Sportline is reporting that the trade, which is dependent upon Kotsay passing a physical review, is to save money for signing Tejada. I's say it was more to dump Terrence Long...plus the A's have Johnson, Rose and eventually Jeremy Brown waiting for the job. It was a buy low sell high type of deal. Kotsay coming off a porr season due to unjury and Hernandez having his best season. It depends on Kotsay's health, but just getting rid of Long was a good move. I say beneficial for both teams.

November 26, 200322 yr Too many of you are way to confident that an unproven Catcher that hasn't proved anything in the big leagues will be able to fill in for Pudge fine. I would say there's just as good a chance as Castro being a flop, as him having a great season next year.

One home run per 10 at-bats is a sick ratio. It's too small of a sample size. There's a lot of baseball players who hit 5 HR in 50 AB over the course of a season. I'm more worried about whether he can handle the staff than his bat anyway.
