July 19, 201016 yr Why not go after a guy like Adam Dunn? The nationals have been shopping him around of late. We could trade Cantu and a couple of low prospect for Dunn. Then move Cogs to 3rd and stick Dunn in left.
July 19, 201016 yr Let's not. You trade Cantu for prospects, not a guy who will be gone after this year.
July 19, 201016 yr If all we needed was his bat to get us into the playoffs, then sure. But we need a lot more than Adam Dunn right now.
July 19, 201016 yr There's also NO way they give up Dunn for Cantu + 2 low prospects. And where are you going to play him? He's only not disgustingly horrible at 1B (IIRC), so where does Gaby go?

The Hammer certainly would fit in left field and then that would put Cogs on third?? Or Cogs on 2nd and move Uggs to 3rd?? At least Josh know the LF well. Of course this assumes we get rid of Cantu. Or put Cantu on the bench??? Unfortunately I don't know if Washington would take Boni :|
July 19, 201016 yr Why in the world would the Nationals want Bonifacio or Cantu for either Willingham or Dunn? Just guessing but I would expect the Nationals would part with Dunn for Logan Morrison. That's the kind of deal a contender makes and I don't see this Marlins team going to the playoffs. I see them selling off some players but not in a full fledged firesale because of the new stadium on the horizon. Cantu, Ross, Helms and Nunez seem like the most likely guys to be traded in the next couple of weeks.
July 19, 201016 yr Yeah, who in the world would trade Willingham for Bonifacio???!!! Hey! We got PJ Dean also!!!!!!!!!!!

West and a power RP arm, at least Cishek, probably Ceda or Jennings, too. Dunn is outrageously awesome right now, and trading in division is going to up the price. Never happen, but just saying.
July 19, 201016 yr Though his average seems to be falling in the past couple of months, if we want a realistic trade for anybody from the Nats, I would target Pudge. Our pitchers are finally coming together, but he has showed time and time again what he can do for pitchers while he's behind the plate. It's always good to have a presence like that, needed, or not. I know Baker is coming back soon, but to honest, I'm not a huge Baker fan.
July 19, 201016 yr Why in the world would the Nationals want Bonifacio or Cantu for either Willingham or Dunn? To be Adam Kennedy's designated pinch runner.
July 20, 201016 yr Why would we even want Adam Dunn? Seriously. We already have a mini version of him with Dan Uggla. Plus, where would he play? LoMo's due up for the outfield (and I don't want Dunn anywhere near this outfield), Gaby's at first, Uggla's staying. So where would he play?
