July 23, 201015 yr This may not be good news for the Ross family but Jayson Stark is Tweeting that one of the top outfield "gets" this trading deadline, David deJesus, who the Royals have been holding out trying to get top dollar for, sprained his thumb against the Yankees tonight, and while the Royals are saying he will miss at least the rest of the series, Stark wonders out loud if he'll be back before the trading deadline. BTW, x-rays were negative. This is why being a Royals fan is never any fun. In Kansas City and for Cody Ross whose stock undoubtedly just went up.
July 23, 201015 yr Phillies and Dodgers interested in Cody Ross The Phillies and Dodgers expressed interest in Cody Ross, according to Juan C. Rodriguez of the South Florida Sun Sentinel. Those two teams discussed Ross with the Marlins, as did the Braves, Red Sox and Yankees. Ross tells Rodriguez that seeing his name in trade rumors is "not a good feeling," but until July 31st comes along, the rumors probably won't stop. The 29-year-old has split his time between center and right, posting a solid .274/.326/.400 line with seven homers. He makes $4.45MM and won't qualify for free agency until after 2011, so he's more than a rental. Ross has $1.8MM remaining on his salary, but that's less than what many available outfielders will make.

Yeah and they are in desperite need of an Outfield Bat. Manny Ramirez is not looking good and will need to most likely be traded to an AL team to DH full time. I really don't want to trade Cody unless we get a great deal and we are far back in the playoff race come July 30th.

BTW none of those runs can be attributed to inherited runs being scored as he completed the fifth inning. Mastny threw 3.innings in relief giving up a run while striking out three. In West's defense the errors could not have come at worse times but we has also responsible for putting four runners on via walks, at least three of them ultimately scoring. Morrison was 1-1 with three walks to lift his OBP to an astounding .429 at NOLA. Luna has not started the last two games, no news of any injury which doesn't mean he isn't, or Norton is just giving him a couple of days off. He did have a late inning pinch hit appearance. For those who care Tim Wood looked like a Christmas display at Kmart getting pounded

Makes you wonder for a minute whether in fact the Marlins are going to consider using Clay as a temporary or spot starter, or moved back to the seventh inning until he starts using his fastball more often (or it means absolutely nothing...lol...who knows?). Stay tuned.
