September 27, 201015 yr Awesome to see Cake making a new CD... first new single in almost 6 years. One of my favorite bands http://www.spin.com/articles/exclusive-first-new-song-cake-6-years ! I just popped. I've been a huge Cake fan for years now, this is great news. Also, that song is pretty awesome. Yea, I had no idea they were recording a new CD until a buddy said something to be me about it.. have been waiting forever for a new album! was VERY happy to hear new Cake Cake and the chili peppers have been my two favorite bands for as long as I can remember.. kind of funny that the peppers have changed so much through out the years while cake pretty much stays the same. Cake new album in January... new RHCP album late 2011. Can't wait
October 8, 201015 yr I've read through this whole thread and not one person has gotten a Lady Gaga song stuck in their head. That's not possible. So fess up.:shifty I had Paparazzi stuck in my head earlier this year, but I didn't know it was her singing. The chorus was used on USA network in a commercial for the Westminster dog show. I heard it several times before I bothered to look it up. I was shocked when I found out.

I won't deny it, many times in the past I've ended up with one of her songs stuck in my head, but just not for a wee while. Until I read your post :mad

October 13, 201015 yr http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAh--lH0H3U Awesome song from Biffy Clyro, probably the current biggest rock band from Scotland. Doubt any of you will have heard of them, although they have been touring the States recently. Give them a try, they have a fairly wide variety of song styles like this one or some much heavier tunes, such as "That Golden Rule". And they are awesome live :thumbup

I'm still partial to Crazy Train's beginning, but Baba O'Riley is a good song. Although, I think one of my personal favorite The Who songs is Behind Blue Eyes

November 11, 201015 yr lol Kid Rock is garbage :mad I think he is quite good these days. Love some of the songs on his previous album Rock N Roll Jesus
November 12, 201015 yr Kid Rock's new song Born Free http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=bu3rsha1ZtI Wasn't that song used during the World Series? It sounded like pop BS to me. About the only song I like from him is "Only God Knows Why".

November 13, 201015 yr Author U2 - Pride (In the Name of Love) Now that is a TUNE! I just completed a vast Powerpoint presentation on U2 for my Survey of Rock class. A lot of repeating U2 songs, a lot of hearing U2 recently. Just so happened that this was the one that stuck tonight lol. If anyone wants to take a look - http://www.mediafire.com/?p6b2ozddgvgv2d6 Took a ton of effort to rip a ton of snippets off of YouTube and to edit my songs into smaller lengths... easily my best Powerpoint ever. Should work for a good lecture on tuesday!

Just so happened that this was the one that stuck tonight lol. Sounds like an interesting class. Do you discuss the science of music? I've always wondered if I like a song because I actually like it or because it was engineered to be irresistible to my auditory senses. Lady Gaga is definitly the latter. What's the teacher like? Just an average teacher or is he(if it is a he) like Otto from the Simpsons? I know that's a stereotype. I'm just wondering if its true in this case.
November 13, 201015 yr When my dad passed away all I heard in my head for a month was Phil Collins "You'll Be In My Heart" (From Disney's Tarzan)... now it's from that car commercial with the hamsters where they kept rapping, "You can get with this or you can get with that"

We cover both the sound of music and the history of rock and roll, but I think the science of music is more covered under Musical Theory. The teacher is pretty cool. Nah, he's not stereotypical at all. Fancy schmancy with his PHD and all, knows a ton about music.
