September 26, 201015 yr Marlins won, if anyone still cares. Stanton homered (21) and Volstad pitched well for the win. Two straight scoreless outings from Volstad. It's nice to know that he still can pitch well.
September 26, 201015 yr Great outing by Volstad. I wonder if he is only trolling us into thinking he can pitch like this pretty much all the time, especially next year. If he is, IT'S WORKING.
September 26, 201015 yr Author With a 4-0 win, the #Marlins have thrown 16 shutouts this year, a new season record for the team That was actually a shock to me.

September 26, 201015 yr Author What's up with Volstad? :lol I don't know, but when he has games like his past 2 starts, it makes me really believe that he could become a really good number 3.

September 26, 201015 yr Volstad now 11-9 on the year and shedded a few points of his ERA and Giancarlo hit number 21 making it more homeruns then his age. I don't know if his streak ended or not but Logan got onbase again today so if it hasn't ended the streak is at 44 i believe. FUTURE!

September 26, 201015 yr Volstad's not bad at this pitching when it doesn't really matter thing. It's good to see some real positives from him, but these starts haven't made me forget the meltdown that happened during the stretch run last year.

When he was a 22 year old pitching in his second season?

It's nice to know that he still can pitch well. Unfortunately, I've been too busy to watch the games lately Glad to hear Volstad pitched well and that the Marlins won though! I'm just hoping I get to catch a few more games before the season is over.

What about the fantastic rookie year he had down the stretch when it did matter?

September 26, 201015 yr This year we have 4 Starting Pitchers with at least 11 Wins. (JJ - 11, Anibal- 12, - Ricky 14, Volstad -11) If next year we could get 5 pitchers in the rotation with at least 12 wins each we would have a great chance to get into the playoffs. The decision now for the F.O. is that do we want to get a number 2 or 3 SP this offseason from F.A. or via trade or do we want to add in a guy like Sanabia or West into the rotation and hope they can live up to potential.

JJ and Volstad having the same # of wins is just criminal
