May 2, 201115 yr Which also just shows your minimal intelligence. JUST KIDDING Heh. Actually, it shows an underlying bleeding bit of consumerism in all of you. You want so you get. We can't afford Wright in terms of value. That meaning that we can't afford to part with the pieces required to get him. Pass.
May 2, 201115 yr As much as I'd love to get Wright I don't see it happening. So many teams have better players to offer including sure MLB ready talent which we really don't have.
May 2, 201115 yr Jeez what happened to Wright. His defense has gotten considerably worse. His K% has shot up since his earlier years in the league, seams like he started to become a little less patient a hitter since his 10 HR season. I don't know if it's patience but he just isn't making contact like he used to.

Maybe putting too much pressure on himself being the face of the franchise, with the majority of the supporting cast not being up to scratch.
May 2, 201115 yr A Mets' fan friend of mine thinks the hit in the head he took really f***ed him up. He says he refuses to dig in, so he's basically useless against stuff on the outside half. He just throws his bat at it, rather than leaning over and trying to make good contact. Sounds possible.

May 2, 201115 yr WHO GAS NOW!!!! OBAMA DEAD CHEAHAHAHAHAHAH Are you drunk? :lol I wish. I really wish I was.
May 2, 201115 yr I would love to trade for either Wright or Reyes. Do you guys think we can make a move for Reyes? Can he play 2nd and Infante 3rd or Reyes at 3rd? Reyes Cogz Hanley Stanton Gaby Logan Buck Infante Cogz Gaby/Logan Hanley Wright Stanton Logan/Gaby Buck Infante

Reyes Cogz Hanley Stanton Gaby Logan Buck Infante Cogz Gaby/Logan Hanley Wright Stanton Logan/Gaby Buck Infante Reyes' formerly awesome SS defense has been tanking the last few years. He hasn't posted a positive +/- since '08. I don't know if I'd trust him at a position he's only played 352 innings at (2B). He's never played 3B.
May 2, 201115 yr A realistic rental player option at third base might be someone like Aramis Ramirez if the Cubs start unloading. I don't remember how good his defense is lately, however.

May 2, 201115 yr I doubt the marlins bring in a longterm solution to 3rd. They have always been headstrong when it comes to prospects and where they want them. A rental for this season is possible but as long as w/e platoon they have going on is producing I dont see the point. Just keep helms from starting ffs. Dobbs and boni only please. There's also no reason to give up on Dominguez yet. He really should be at least an average starter, which is plenty fine at least for the first 5 seasons of the guy's career (at those salaries, I mean).
May 3, 201115 yr I love how we are talking about Wright's decline all the way down to an .856 OPS. AKA, better than the offensive output of all but 3-4 3b seasons in Marlins history.

Ive always thought the marlins would sign someone fairly bigname this coming offseason going into the new park but I dont see which position this point. Maybe a sp but they have always said they dont like spending big on sp. dominguez will be given every chance and he should. Maybe we will just see a few longterm extensions. Given how everyone is playing, I would only sign want to sign a big-time free agent 2nd baseman, and I think Infante is a free agent anyway. I see no reason to replace Stanton, Coghlan, Logan, Gaby, Hanley, or Buck (assuming Dominguez is ready for next year, and I see no reason why he wouldn't be). Sure, we could upgrade those positions, but most of those are playing for $400k. I'd rather spend the money on a starting pitcher for sure, or fortifying the bullpen if anyone falters/add an ace reliever.
