Looking For Writers

Featured Replies

If you're interested in writing for the main site, now's the time to join. I will have an exciting announcement soon in terms of the main site and you will want to already be a part of things when it gets underway.

Being a writer is currently a non-paying position. However your content will be read by thousands of sports fans around the world, and really enhance your resume. In addition, minor league affiliate credentials are a possibility for all members of the writing staff.

If you would like to write for the main site, please PM me or email me at Admin[at]marlinsbaseball.com with a writing sample.

Thanks!

We need more writers!!! :D

Sometimes life gets in the way, so I haven't been able to write articles as much as I'd like. A mix of opinion pieces along with recaps is what we are looking for from some future writers.

You get your work published on the front page, your articles will have many page views, and Admin gives all active writers a "We Love Admin" T-Shirt! I've got 2.

I know I'd like to write more, but I just can't with a 7 to 7 job and classes.

It's rewarding, if nothing else!

I wrote for the sports section for the Southeastern Times my first year of college. I had quite a few articles done and enjoyed it but I ended up leaving my journalism major and that school to go into basic Sport Management at Liberty. I have a year left of my UG and then I will be attending a public school in Florida for my masters in mass communications. i want to become an analyst/broadcast/media person. Anyway I will try to get some writing samples and would gladly be willing to help my favorite sports team, and yes it does look good on the resume.

I've had a bunch of ideas for articles and then I just forget to write them, for some reason.

Do we just write stuff out of the random or do we get topics to write about? Cause that's easier for someone like me to do if I've got a topic given to me that I can research on.

I've got to start writing again. I have about 3 or 4 half-finished articles on my computer that I just haven't gotten around to make presentable due to school and other obligations.

If you like to write, then I highly recommend it. MB.com automatically tweets your topic, so you get pretty decent exposure. I think my last article on Stanton got like 9 facebook shares within half a day or something, which is pretty good considering how many people see that on others' walls.

You pick the topic.

And it has to be Marlins related.

I can see it now: Mike writes an article stating reasons as to why Rachel should date him. :|

Actually I was going to write an article stating reasons as to why Erick's use of Sabermetrics on this site are useless to 98% of the board cause we don't understand it.

And I'm just looking for a date to the MB Awards. Relax, Mr. Roque, relax.

Now, I personally believe I could do decent at game recaps.

Someone took my last post way too seriously...

Love you too :D

I second this. Mike would be great at writing game recaps or anything else for this site.

Well thank you, Mr. Cycle :thumbup

Recaps only though, not much more for anything else. lol

I'd love to have someone else helping with recaps. If we do, I'll add some more opinion pieces.

I wouldn't mind helping you out on that. I've never really done it because every time I'm about to, I get the feeling you're on doing the same thing lol. If we could coordinate who writes when, I'll give you a hand.

^^ This too. I'm in if you need an extra recapper or two.

I think such an article should be written and published!

Seen as i have little to do over the coming months, and to be honest i don't do much at University anyway due to only going in 10 (YES TEN!) hours a week. So i will produce something and send it to our Admin. The title is.. 'Marlins from across the pond'. I am half way through it so will send it after it is completed. Much love.

I'm in the process of crafting my "The Potential Impact of the Josh Johnson Injury" article.

I think an article about baseball, or at least the Marlins, from the perspective of those in other countries would make for an interesting read.

I have little to do over the coming months, and University isn't very time consuming, so if you like the piece i send. Lets say its a taster and all about my beginnings as a Marlin fan, then would be happy to partake in the column.
