November 25, 200322 yr Well, I'm long over that terrible loss we had to you guys in the NLCS, and I think, I'm starting to like the Marlins a bit. I mean, a team that wins one year, and then dumps it's best players off to other contenders for propects who will never make it in the big. On behalf of the Cubs, I'd like to thank you for Derek Lee. And I can tell you not to kid yourself, Choi will never be the power hitter he's cracked up to be. He can't hit a hook. Once again, thank you.

Don't take this trade as an opportunity to rip on the fish, and get over last year's NLCS, you lost, it's over. Simple as that.

Derrek Lee, prospect, acquired by the Florida Marlins in 1998 from the San Diego Padres after not even Tony Gwinn could fix his hitting and the Pads gave up on him and traded for Kevin Brown.

November 25, 200322 yr Author Nah. I'm truly over it. I'm putin over the bulls these days. Not quite as bad as the heat or the magic but they're pretty bad. Beside the point. Don't kid yourself. Choi has struck out 1/3 of the time in WINTER BALL.
November 25, 200322 yr Author How's your offseason, Loser?? Harsh. Well, it's going pretty well, considering we're not headed back to yaers in the cellar due to lack of payroll. It's also nice to know that ten games into the season, we won't have any attendance problems, which you almost certainly will. I mean, these aint yer grandfather's Cubs. We're making moves. We're still a contender. You guys will be back to another losing season, without your legion of fair weather fans in the seats. What a franchise.
November 25, 200322 yr We don't count on Choi only. we have plenty of options at first, more than the Cubs do right now. We bought low in 1998 and have just sold high in 2003. The Cubs were stupid enough to pay so much!
November 26, 200322 yr Author Lol...you obviously don't know a thing about Choi. Think of Lee in our lineup, patterson back. Patterson, Grudz, Sosa, Alou, Ramirez, Lee.. combined with the best young pitching in baseball and a brilliant GM who will probably put pudge behind the plate? I'll give you that. It was brilliant to sign pudge.

We can sport our two world series banners from the past seven years. What can you sport? And remember, we won more games than the Cubs in '02, and we did it in '03. You can have your attendance, because we will too. Soon enough...

What a franchise. are you completely oblivious to the fact that the marlins won with a LOW payroll this year...or were you to busy crying after you lost the NLCS and watched us win the W.S. to notice. and trading our Strikeout and DP prone 1B will put us back in the cellar? i dont think so buddy, go rag on Bartman...
November 26, 200322 yr espo, do you ever talk to your great great grandfather about how great it was when the Cubs won the world series? its nice talking to your elders

You guys will be back to another losing season, without your legion of fair weather fans in the seats. What a franchise. Marlins=2 world series titles since 1997 Cubs=0 world series titles since 1908 "these ain't yer grandfather's cubs" may be right, but they are still CURSED, not to mention the fact that you don't just go to the NLCS every year. The Cubs blew a golden oppourtunity last season, and you know it.
November 26, 200322 yr espo... *EDIT* very funny but a no-no on these boards im outta of this topic guys, i'm going to go admire our World Series trophy
November 26, 200322 yr Let me tell you what you got in Derek Lee: Bottom of the ninth 2 outs bases loaded Cubs losing 1-0 Derek Lee up to bat Strike 1 Foul ball ball strike 3 looking game over Cubs loose AGAIN
November 26, 200322 yr I don't believe in curses. It's BS. Did you watch the top of the 8th inning of game 6 of the NLCS???
November 26, 200322 yr whats wrogn with the se cup fans? they are the worse i tell ya For once, your right.
November 26, 200322 yr I am so happy Mr. Anti-Clutch is gone. Knowing that I will immediately incur the wrath of my dear and esteemed friend Mr. Shamster, nonetheless I'm throwing caution to the wind - Derrek Lee is the worst clutch-hitting player in baseball. Wait til the Cubs figure out the optimum time to expect a home run from DLee is when the score is 11-2, in either teams' favor. Wait til it's the bottom of ninth and they NEED a run with DLee standing tall in the batters box. I suspect by the end of April, being the astute fans of the game (I may have to vomit here, hold on for a moment) that they are, they will understand why he's no longer a Marlin. Derrek I wish you well. Just keep doin' what your doin' and the Cubs will never see another playoff for another ten years. You da man!!!
November 26, 200322 yr lee is like a women sometimes: one moment you love him after a great play at first, next moment you want to kill him because he looked like crap at the plate when we really needed something big. its a love-hate type of thing.
