Baker is still here?

:woohoo glad to see Baker and Murphy back :D

Damn right. Good to see them both. I hope they are part of next years team too.

Baker is still here?

No, they activated him on another team.

That can't be right.

I hope im wrong but... dominguez is going to be a bust.

If anything, he'll be like Alex Gonzalez. Great defense, so-so power, meh hitter.

After watching Dominguez in rookies, High A and Double A IMO he projects to be a .250 hitter with some pop (15-20 HR's) and gold glove defense at third, if thats a bust I'll take it. If you look at the leading HR hitters in Majors right now 40-45 HR's may lead the league for next few years that kind of production out of a third baseman won't be too shabby.

I think that would be the absolute best scenario for him. What I'm expecting is 5-10 hr .230's with very good defense, but not great. I'm not sold on his "gold glove" defense. All its going to take is for people to have overestimated his defense for him to be a career minor leaguer. Basically, if he doesn't have absolutely spectacular defense then he isn't a starter. I really hope I'm wrong and he is a vacuum at 3rd.

Why not?

Why not?

Fielding % isn't so great and he hasn't played in the majors yet. Yeah yeah fielding % and errors aren't a good measure of defense because he gets to more balls. But its still not a fielding % that indicates he will dominate as a defensive 3b and he doesn't have enough of a bat to fall back on if he isn't. I don't think hes going to be bad defensively. I just worry that he won't be good enough defensively to makeup for his bat.

I'm skeptical about Dominguez's bat but not his defense. You can't judge defensive talent in the minors by fielding percentage. All the kids are gonna make errors, but its the ones who show superior range, instincts, and ability that are gonna be good defenders at the next level. These kinds of things are better judged in person and all the scouts have been impressed.

Having gotten a chance to watch him a lot up in Jax, he plays a super 3B. I don't know how to overestimate defense... I mean he's very good. But it's fair to worry about his bat.

It's been improving though, I think he's going to figure it out.
