April 1, 201214 yr Author Washington has the tiebreaker and it's non-negotiable. It is impossible for the Panthers to win a tiebreaker with Buffalo because it is impossible to match Buffalo in wins at the end of the season without also having more points than them. This is because of OTLs, which are very valuable in such a situation. Conversely, they're really detrimental head to head versus a team like Washington.

April 1, 201214 yr The shootout is really the worst thing to happen to the NHL. It's such a bulls*** way to decide a game, win or lose. Whatever, at least we gotta a point (The Panthers Motto). 3 pt lead in the division. We better f***ing win on Tuesday.

April 1, 201214 yr That seems right. We're 5 points ahead with 3 games left for each team. So, if they lose out on 2 possible points or we get 2 points, i.e. a regulation loss for them or a win/2 ties for us, then we clinch.

Just be thankful that Clemmensen held the Detroit Red Wings to 1 goal in their building. + that shot from Hudler was a good one. We can't score. With that said, the point now means we're just one win away from our first playoff berth in 124757684635866633696474 years.
