September 22, 201114 yr man javy really needs to reconsider if he can keep this up. hes been dominant. could have 13 wins and an era in the 3.7's with another good start. i understand going out on top but thats more when you have been good all the time. hes resurrecting himself so why not see if you can keep it up? its worth the try and perhaps another 6-7 million dollars.

It begs the question... theoretically speaking is having a pitcher that spends half a season as the worst pitcher in the league and then half a season as the best pitcher in the league worth it? It's like the theoretical 9.00 ERA pitcher that somebody once devised here on MB.com. If he always gave up one run, he'd be useful. Well, I'd take this the other way. Sounds like a .500 pitcher to me. Which is a #3-5 pitcher in my books.

At least one of them figured it out. Volstad has several straight quality starts and is pitching well lately his past five starts with an ERA of 2.97. Maybe at just 24 he is starting to figure it out.

September 22, 201114 yr Beating on the Braves was an early Marlin tradition. Don't ask me why or how, but I remember always knowing that we'd be able to kick their butts in the 1997 playoffs because we always beat them.
