So offense is more important? Being better if more important. Bingo. Hanley's arguably the best player we've ever had, there's really no argument for Gonzo being better than him. Gonzo would have to be Ozzie Smith defensively to even be in the picture. Gonzo was arguably the worst SS offensively we've ever had besides Andy Fox.
October 4, 201114 yr c.j came back to the marlins in 2001 for less money than he would have made elsewhere..when the marlins offered pudge a new contract after te 2003 world series,he turned it down out of greed.. let's not forget that c.j. set a record for catching over 100 consecutive games without allowing an error.. c.j. was catcher for al leiters and kevin browns no hitters..c.j. represented us in the all star game... don't get me wrong...i love pudge..and he was great..but c.j. did more and for more seasons..and helped us win our first world champinship... facts are facts..i was very mad at the fans for voting pudge of charles johnson

You could put him in the middle of the lineup and he would actually get the big hits when they mattered.

The 1B's numbers are definitely better but a .864 OPS isn't "nothing" and it definitely qualifies as "actually" getting big hits when it matters. It's boring seeing people pretend Hanley is bad with RISP. It's lazy.

Gonzo was a better feilder, Hanley is better offensively. So its a wash. But apparently offense is more important. Gonzo was second in the voting wasn't he?
