July 4, 201213 yr Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN Source: The Marlins are deep into talks with the Astros for Carlos Lee; he has indicated a willingness to play for Miami. Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN Why do the Marlins want Carlos Lee? Consider this: Miami 1Bmen have lowest OPS among 30 teams by huge margin.http://espn.go.com/m.../OPS/order/true Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN Am told that the Lee deal is not completely done, but there has been a whole lot of progress. As much as HOU wants to move Lee,seems likely. Well, looks like this may happen, then. Not entirely for it, considering Lee no longer has any power, but ... anything is better than Gaby at this point.
July 4, 201213 yr Carlos Lee should help our playoff run for sure. When you suck, it's always a good idea to trade for washed up players who suck. So exciting.
July 4, 201213 yr Author I agree, Erick ... But we're gonna have a few people on here very happy about this. :|
July 4, 201213 yr We don't have enough relief pitching to do anything this year sadly so this is a kinda pointless move. I guess we are making some progress upgrading, just don't know how much. :|
July 4, 201213 yr The Marlins already have an internal solution at 1B. With the way Ruggiano is hitting, he's not any worse than Carlos Lee even once he regresses. Bonifacio is coming back which would move Ruggiano to LF. This front office is making moves like a bunch of dinosaurs. RBI's!
July 4, 201213 yr Author Why even bother?? The team is not going anywhere, why waste $$ and prospects? Wouldn't be much money and prospects - Houston wants to move him and he wants to be here. Still against it ...

July 4, 201213 yr Author Well, I suppose the good thing is, Lee is going to just be a rental, which means Morrison moves to first for 2013. Then we gotta find an outfielder ... Don't say Ruggiano.
July 4, 201213 yr Author Brian McTaggart @brianmctaggart Lee's locker has been cleaned out and he is gone Retweeted by joe capozzi Oh? ...

I'd rather see Ruggiano play over Lee. I have a feeling that much of this might have to do with Stanton's knee, though. If they land Lee today, I don't think it's any coincidence that it was announced today that Stanton would miss the derby and ASG.
July 4, 201213 yr Author Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN Sources: The Marlins are trading Matt Dominguez and P Rob Rasmussen for Carlos Lee.
July 4, 201213 yr For Matt Dominguez and Rob Rasmussen. Holy sh*t. Fire everyone. Rasmussen just conducted a poll and has found widespread disapproval for this trade.
July 4, 201213 yr Wow this is absolute clueless FO management. Why the f*** would you willingly want to keep LoMo in left field?
