July 4, 201213 yr We gave up Dominguez? Jesus. Have to think Houston is paying the bulk of the money owed to Lee.
July 4, 201213 yr Are you f***ing kidding me. f***. Dominguez is worth more then a unprocessed bag of beef jerky.
July 4, 201213 yr I don't think Dominguez was going to do much anyway. He is better than gaby no matter what anyone says. This can hopefully fire up lee. But I do worry about defense.
July 4, 201213 yr I wonder how much Houston is paying. Hopefully all of it. I'd assume so or close to it considering the return they got.

July 4, 201213 yr Plus, Dominguez for a loan of Lee sounds about right for Matty D's value at the time with the Marlins set at 3B for a while. I liked Rasumussen though , but I guess a trade needed to be made.

July 4, 201213 yr Dominguez has an OPS of .647 this year, and hasn't OPSed anything over .753 since 2008. His defense may be amazing, but the offensive side of his game has never and probably will never come around enough to make him a valuable commodity starting for any major league team.
July 4, 201213 yr Our offensive savior. People in the cleavlander better be ready to stand up cause Lee's gonna hit a bunch a deep fly outs over there.

It really had nothing to do with the numbers in regards to Rasmussen. I just liked when we drafted him, and just something about the kid made me interested since we drafted him. However, when being real about the trade, the Marlins really didn't give up anything important in this trade for Lee. Pretty close to a low risk, possible high reward situation if the Astros are paying most of the remaining salary.
July 4, 201213 yr rasmussen is a middle of the road prospect who's k number have been less than impressive plus we have a lot of guys in our system who can be middle of the rotation starters. dominguez has a great glove but can't and won't hit. plus he has no place now that hanley is at 3rd. fine trade. we couldn't continue to have so many sh*tty hitters at the back of our lineup.
July 4, 201213 yr The problem isn't what we gave up. The problem is we actually gave up something for a player who sucks.
