Hammerhead
The Marlins' price tag on Josh Johnson remains so over the top that an official of a team that has spoken with the Miami brass reiterated our estimate that Johnson is 95 percent to remain a Marlin. Two players the Marlins are working hard to move are Carlos Zambrano and Carlos Lee. Remember, the Cubs are paying virtually all of Zambrano's salary. One exec who spoke with the Marlins says they have two teams interested in him. A Zambrano deal would allow them to move Jacob Turner into the big league rotation. Ricky Nolasco is also eminently available. http://espn.go.com/m...layer-available
Admin
Good, both should be traded. No reason at all for us to hang on to either of them.
yokofox33
Get something for them. Continue to add depth to the farm.

enterthemadness
Ricky Nolasco is also eminently available. PACKAGE HIM WITH ZAMBRANO AND LEE! Disrespecting our all time K leader...I like it. PITCH BETTER, NOLASCO.
dom2613
I can just see Beinfest talking to other gm's and finishing up a deal then right when he's about to hang up he goes " oh and Nolasco is coming too." Same thing with Bell.
Ema2R
Ricky Nolasco is also eminently available. PACKAGE HIM WITH ZAMBRANO AND LEE! That's what I was thinking!!!!! And I know this feels not possible but if somehow we could add a Prospect or two, i.e Ozuna and Maybe Flynn who we just acq. then offer that trade for Lawrie and a B Prospect + pay like 7 mil. of Nolasco's contract. enterthemadness
Don't say it like that. Sell it. Our all-time strike out leader is coming too guys...NOLASCO. He struck out 16 Braves one time...good day.Would have been better if it were 16 Phillies or Mets.
I Love Me Some Fish
I bet Nolasco being the Marlins all time wins leader will factor in getting something decent for him!

palette
Start with Nolasco and Lee. Throw in some bobbleheads and whatever art Loria's got hanging up at the stadium. Done deal.
Gianroido
I dont know why we are trading Z, he'd be serviceable as a pinch hitter/1st baseman considering we cant hit. better than Lomo at hitting
fanofthefish
Shame that despite a promising start, Big Z never worked out for us He would have much better record if wasn't for Bell, while they're cleaning house please add him to the pile. Not referring to record, a better ERA and less walks would have been nice

Zero
Z's value. dropping. fast. For a fan maybe. A scout however would look past the score and realize he actually pitched quite well for what he's shown lately.

A scout however would look past the score and realize he actually pitched quite well for what he's shown lately. Uhhh....what? He's been absolutely awful. You can say, he was doing so good until....all you want but that's part of it. He has a couple good innings then implodes. 6+ era and 2.2+ whip since the all star break. He's lucky he still has a roster spot

Admin
I think a scout would notice that he still has major control issues...just like he's had all year. So I'd say you have it reversed.
