Lets go Marlins lets salvage something !

there would really be no point to this besides getting a worse draft pick. I obviously like winning but all im concerned about is our young guys getting as much playing time as possible.

Since we do not draft well, or even draft players anyway that belong a few rungs lower due to signability, I am watching the games with interest only for the possibility of beating out the mets and phils. Means nothing, sure, other than as a fan, at least winning some games.

This season is now all about the draft pick.

Draft pick >> 3rd place.

The draft is such a crapshoot that I personally don't care what slot we draft in.

I'm much more interested in watching the current players progress the rest of the year.

I'd like to see Stanton stay healthy and continue to hit bombs.

I'd like to see Cishek close out some more games.

I'd like to see what they're going to do with Heath Bell.

I'd like to see Josh Johnson stay healthy and continue pitching well.

I'd like to see Eovaldi (and Turner once he gets a shot) pitch well.

I'd like to see if Brantly can hit at the big league level.

I'd like to see just how good Ruggiano is.

And while we're at it, I'd like to see if some of these known scrubs in the starting lineup are good enough to even have a spot on a big league roster as bench players at the very least.

There are lot of guys on the current roster who have not proven themselves and their progression would go a long way to helping us become a better team.

I definitely think the order matters. If you manage to draft early, it's less of a crapshoot. It's silly to pretend that it's all luck. There is some degree of that, but earlier picks probably help marginalize it

Secondly, you can relish in guys like Stanton, Ruggiano, Reyes, Cishek doing well, but simultaneously not get bent out of shape when the team loses a game. Individual performances are not necessarily tied to the outcomes. There are plenty of sucky players on the roster that can lose games.

Just as long as we throw enough out there to lose-something the Dolphins should have thought about last year.

I would much rather have a better draft pick than finish in 3rd. Finishing in 3rd does absolutely nothing for us.

I'm with a few of you, but I'm more interested in personal highlights. If they add up to wins so be it.

I'd like so see Brantly hit .270 the rest of the year.

I'd like to see Stanton stay healthy, and take the HR crown with a .290 average and great RF. No more diving for balls he wont get to, I cringe everytime I see him go all out because of his past problems with it. Now that he's had that knee surgery, he's been better but right now- play it safe, make a few great plays and stay healthy.

I'd like to see JJ give up only 3 ER each start, rarely 4. Build up confidence for next year.

Heath Bell take back the Closer's job, and not give it up again.

Reyes get back to last years level, or close to it.

Ruggiano hit .300 the rest of the year, with 6 more HR's.

Carlos Lee earn a contract to return next year. I think he's earned it, but I'm not sure if I want him back because of Lomo's 1B.

Eovaldi give up only 4ER and get into the 6th each time out, I think that would be a victory for a his career.

TURNER!!! Bring him up for a few starts when his Milb season is over, lets see him.

I'd like to find a 3B, maybe move Ruggiano there for a week since he's the emergency 3B.

And in the meantime I'd hope that we lose all of our games while all that nice good stuff is happening.

And that every other team wins their games somehow.

Fair enough.

But I want to improvement from the guys listed or, in the cases of some, continued quality performance. If it just so happens that they lose on a given day, I obviously won't care as much now that the team is not in contention anymore.

Reyes get back to last years level, or close to it.

I don't think you're ever going to see another year like that from him; however, for what it's worth, he has been that same guy for about 3 months now.

I haven't checked, but I have to imagine that there haven't been too many players who have produced more than Reyes since the beginning of June.

I don't know I just think its better for the players & fans to have some momentum going into next season. But I understand about the draft pick.

I've never liked the idea of playing for a draft pick in any sport. I don't care where you draft, it's a crap shoot that rarely pays any dividends for a few years if at all. And I doubt if the players feel differently. Just go out and do the best they can to see what we have to work with for next season and see what needs to be tweeked/fixed.
