We're going through a crappy time as fans here, some of us deal with it through sarcasm and, as SYI put it, "mockery." Just lighten up and have some fun for a bit, it's a message board. But there's also ridicule and nastiness, and infrequent posters often learn real quick that they're outsiders until they prove they can take it. That's just how it looks to me.

I'll be honest I think that's just more of being a new user and being intimidated. And I'm not saying it's necessarily YOU that is like that. I'm saying it's a thing about being a new user on a message board. It's easy to not feel comfy in a big system like a web forum, where there's little cliques and high school gangs and stuff and we like to pick on each other and whatnot. Chances are though that nothing is personal unless it's between el penguino and Piazza31.

The three of us who said something about it have been watching this forum for a lot of years. I think we have a pretty clear idea of what it's like. It's good, interesting, sometimes funny stuff, and that's why I hang around. But sometimes it's plain mean-spirited. It is what it is and I don't expect it will change. I just think SYI and DownRodeo made a valid point.

I know where you're coming from, but I still think you're painting the wrong general picture. I wouldn't call it mean-spirited in general, although sometimes something might be a tad bit uncalled for or something.
