It's been a quiet start to the year for Giancarlo Stanton who has gone just 4 for his first 26 as opposing pitchers have simply been pitching around him (he has already walked eight times). Despite the anticipated high walk total due to the sheer weakness of the rest of the Marlins hitting behind him, many still tabbed Stanton as a potential 30+ home run hitter coming in to the year. He could get started on that feat tonight. As already noted, in six career ABs against Mike Minor, Stanton has two hits, both homers.

Two homers is an understatement. Well, I mean, they WERE two home runs, but they were both absolutely demolished. I remember those. One into the upper deck, and one just to the left of the 434 sign into the blue seats at Sun Life.
