May 23, 201313 yr Ah, Brian Moehler. Idk why I liked watching him pitch so much. Me too. Poor guy didn't get squat for run support, if I recall correctly.
May 23, 201313 yr Run support? Didn't matter. He was never very good, at any point in his career. 14 years, 1500+ IP, 4.81 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, too many walks. Never more than a marginal 4th or 5th starter. He was smart in that he managed to leverage his very minimal skills into many millions of dollars of income for more than a decade.
May 23, 201313 yr There was a stretch where Moehler pitched very well for about 10 games in 2005, and yeah, did not get run support in that stretch.
May 23, 201313 yr So what? He still sucked overall that year. Run support mostly only affects wins/losses.
May 23, 201313 yr This is going to be a funny debate about Moehler because El Penguino can't let shit go.
May 23, 201313 yr I'm no different than anyone else on the board in that regard, including yourself especially.
May 23, 201313 yr I'm no different than anyone else on the board in that regard, including yourself especially. LOL. Most posters, like myself, debate relevant topics. You want to debate about Brian Moehler. As if there was even a debate there.
May 23, 201313 yr I don't see any "debate" about Moehler or anything indicating that I want one. You do have a habit of not letting things go, though, which is why I'm surprised that you are trying to call me out.

You wanted an argument over Brian Moehler. No one really does that but you.

May 24, 201313 yr There was a stretch where Moehler pitched very well for about 10 games in 2005, and yeah, did not get run support in that stretch. That's what I was referencing. And the rest of ya'lls little bitchfest about what bitchfest said is f***ing stupid. Yes, he had no run support. I wasn't insinuating anything else so stop crying about it. I didn't say "Mollerz was teh beastestss uyeazhzhz guys!!!" Would you get mad at me if I stated a fact and said "Ricky Nolasco is a lucky guy, he seems to get run support." hmm?
May 24, 201313 yr 10 pounds of BS in a 5 pound sack. Moehler had a run of 7 (not 10) games in '05 (5/27 to 6/27,) all of which the Marlins lost and with which he was was credited with 5 losses. In those 7 games, we scored 10 runs -- so, yeah, he had little to no run support for 7 games. So, what? He still pitched to his usual, totally mediocre standard over those 7 games and 46.1 IP: 3.88 ERA, 49 hits (including 17 doubles) and 13 BB. A hair better than his usual 1.46 WHIP: 1.34. He won his next 4 starts (7/2 to 7/20) while throwing worse than his usual crap over 23.1 IP: 4.63 ERA, 32 hits and 5 BB. WHIP 1.59. Why? We scored an average of 9 runs/game in those 4 starts. Over the entire 25 games he started, we scored an average of 4.04 runs/game, not much different than the average 4.43 runs/game for the entire season. Other than his 7 starts with almost no support, he got an average of 5.05/game. He sucked whether he had run support or not.
May 24, 201313 yr I really hope Brian Moehler decides to Google himself sometime soon and stumbles upon this.
May 24, 201313 yr I really hope Brian Moehler decides to Google himself sometime soon and stumbles upon this. I have an inkling Dr. Beinfest may in fact be Brian Moehler...
May 24, 201313 yr Koehler, Moehler, what's the difference? :lol Seriously, Koehler seems to have some potential. We'll see. As for Moehler, he's only slightly less interesting than this season so far.
May 24, 201313 yr This thread tells you how bad we are this year. Arguing about Brian Mohler. Never did I think I'd miss the days of arguing about Hermida or Bonifacio.

May 25, 201313 yr I really hope Brian Moehler decides to Google himself sometime soon and stumbles upon this. I have an inkling Dr. Beinfest may in fact be Brian Moehler... Dr Beinfest has made every attempt to defend Brian Moehler. I mean I have made every attempt to defend... myself. Apparently people still don't understand the difference between subjectivity and objectivity. 10 pounds of Beinfest in a 5 pound sack, yo.
May 25, 201313 yr Brian Moehler? Really? Koehler is already way better than Moehler EVER was for the Marlins. In his two years with the Fish...Moehler pitched in 66 games (46 starts) in which he was 13-23 with a 5.43 ERA and a 1.58 WHIP. He sucked! Plain and simple.
