April 13, 201412 yr 155-7! That will only happen when the Marlins bring up Zack Cox and bring back Chris Coghlan.

April 13, 201412 yr They also have to bring up Brent Keys. Don't forget reacquiring Heath Bell to close and siging Jorge Julio to work the 8th. We need our guys.

April 13, 201412 yr Tough loss. Like Tommy said during the telecast, this would have been a great game for the team to rebound and get some confidence back. Alas...
April 13, 201412 yr I'm sorry guys I haven't watched the past 6 games and it's resulted in losses, I'll watch tomorrow and guarantee a W
April 13, 201412 yr We have guys better suited as bench players starting at C and 1B. Guys who shouldnt be in the league at all probably starting at 3B and SS(Hechavarria's hot start notwithstanding, he is going to crash hard at some point). Unproven youngsters who while they might have potential are still unproven youngsters starting at 2B, LF, and CF. So really, there is onei guy you can call a legitimate MLB starter at this point and he starts in RF. The starting rotation has plenty of question marks, and of the 5, four of them are 3rd/4th starters at best. I am not sure why some had such high expectations heading into this year, but so be it. The best thing that could happen for the Marlins is that Jacob Turner, Tom Koehler, Steve Cishek, Mike Dunn, Carlos Marmol, and AJ Ramos have awesome seasons heading into July so the Marlins can unload them at the deadline when teams are willing to overpay for pitching to help stock the farm system. I would say the same for some of the hitters as well, get a hot streak or just be competent enough so a team that might need a bat to fill a hole is willing to give up something for them.
April 13, 201412 yr Saltalamacchia and Jones are guys who can help a winning team if used correctly. They shouldn't be starting full time but they are quality players. I agree with the rest of your post. This isn't a good team. Best to focus on the young players rather than the W/L record.

Saltalamacchia should be the backup catcher in a perfect world.
April 13, 201412 yr This team is fun to watch except for when they lose, which is most of the time. which is unacceptable

Agreed 1000%. Got to be sellers at the deadline.
April 13, 201412 yr just lose 100 f***ing games again Oh cmon. They'll lose 90. One season at a time. I am starting to think the Marlins arent very good. You mean that warm and fuzzy Spring Training feeling meant nothing?
April 13, 201412 yr At some point this season, we may have to check out Mark Canha or Justin Bour at first this year. Dude's playing in the upper levels who have flashed in the minors before. Jones is a platoon player and we know he's not the future. Not saying the future is on the roster but it's worth a look.

He always puts up good numbers in the minors. Not saying he will stick in Miami but I feel like he has at least deserved a chance. And he's not exactly young anymore so I don't see him needing much more development time in NOLA.
April 13, 201412 yr I am starting to think the Marlins arent very good. we really Have not been that good since 2003, 11 years of crap. You have to give em a chance though before you smash the tv up into million pieces. Iv always said, give em all of april and may to get their shit together, if they cant do it by the end of may it aint ever going to happen., in most cases

Luckily for us they've actually handled Canha well. He has steadily climbed through our system, the way most prospects should. I think he has advanced a level almost every year of his professional career. Time suggests he will be up this year or next, depending upon injuries or performances...
