May 12, 201412 yr The Marlins can stay in contention with Eovaldi, Alvarez and Koehler heading the starting rotation until when and if Jose Fernandez returns to action. For that to happen, they need Jacob Turner to start pitching better. He was good the last time out.
May 12, 201412 yr Yeah season is over. At least Stanton is having a great year. Time to sell high and trade him at the deadline. With no Jose next year, next year is dead too. No reason to keep Stanton around for one year of a playoff run in 2016. FO needs to realize this Jose injury decided Stanton's fate with this team for them. Fans come to see Jose, not Stanton. Hopefully they realize this and plan for 2016. Put a decent infield together.
May 12, 201412 yr There's a lot of guys who need to step up. Season's not over, that's just dumb. But it is definitely on life support. Need a LOT of players to step the hell up for this team to stay in the thick of things. That includes the entire starting rotation, the bullpen, and key guys in the lineup. So basically everyone.

May 13, 201412 yr How about they all step up? Because Turner pitched better against San Diego than Eovaldi or Alvarez did.
May 13, 201412 yr Um, I think it's stupid to trade Stanton. Just keep on having these mini fire sales or flat out fire sales every few years. I'm tired of this shit. The team is winning. My god. I'm tired of this god damn fucking bull shit and fucking whining. Geez.
May 13, 201412 yr The season isn't by any means over. Next season isn't by any means over. Jose will return right around June of next year. Give or take a month. Heaney will be brought up at the end of this year or the beginning of next year. Flynn and/or Conley will be major league ready by the end of this year to middle of next year. We just need to bridge the gap, As this thread says Turner has to show us why he was the stud of that trade. We have a lineup that even if you strip the luck has been exceptional. We just need a fifth pitcher to step up. Realistically Hand isn't ready. The question is how do we respond.
May 13, 201412 yr It's May. The season isn't over... technically But we could soon wish it was (hopefully not)
May 13, 201412 yr I can't believe Jose's injury automatically leads to Stanton trade talk. Calm ur nips people.
May 13, 201412 yr I'm in shock. I have never been so sad from baseball news Seriously? You're a Marlins fan.
May 13, 201412 yr This is different. José is my man I've become numb to pain since the Miguel Cabrera trade. That guy is a lock for hall of fame and the trade pretty much destroyed this team for many years.
May 13, 201412 yr Author I don't think the season is over. I'm just happy that the Marlins are hitting the ball a lot better than last year. They still have a lot of good arms on the pitching staff and no one (except maybe the Nationals) are going to run away and dominate the N.L. East. Like him or not, Loria has proven that if his team is in it at the trade deadline.....that he will add to the team.
