Does anyone here remember Marlins2003? He hasn't posted for awhile, but he was active in the mid/late 2000s.

 

He reminds me a lot of ... because they both defend Loria to death. Some of their posting habits seem to differ though.

There is a lot of wrong in this paragraph, I'm not sure where to begin.

 

A lot of us on this board have been following Heaney since we drafted him back in 2012. We know his stuff, we know what he's accomplished in the minors, and we understand where his likely ceiling/floor is.

 

THAT is why NONE of us are overreacting to seven innings. For pete sake there was a seven inning stretch where Mark Hendrickson probably looked like Nolan Ryan at some point.

 

Sample sizes are incredibly important. We have enough of a sample size on Heaney to understand he's a damn good pitcher with a high ceiling. Henderson Alvarez has been a nice little surprise this year, but long term he's got the Anibal Sanchez ceiling, which would net him as a likely #3 starter who could potential sprout into a #2 or into a potential #1 if he starts striking out more people.

 

Heaney is a damn good pitcher. I don't understand the insults to be completely honest. You need to relax and understand that people are entitled to opinions, but the people who have done there research are going to have their opinions weighed more heavily than those throwing out wild accusations based on seven innings of work.

You're missing the point entirely. It has nothing to do with the opinion but rather how you express that opinion and how you respect others opinions whether you agree or not. Unfortunately I played right along into that disrespect myself and I had to apologize to another poster for being rude. I imagine that if the childish insults were cleaned up around here that more people would participate and share their thoughts and make this forum more enjoyable for all of us.

There's been several games where I wondered if Red was trying to lose. Like when he brought in Marmol. Twice. Red doesn't have to worry about his job. His salary is very low, just the way Loria like it, and unless he loses 100 games again, he will be back. In fact I have heard stupid comments like Redmond should be Manager of The Year, because look at how much they improved from last year.

Nobody here has said that about Redmond, at any rate. In fact, we've been very critical of many of his moves.
