6/26 post game

Unfortunately Baker isn't going anywhere, and we all know this. With the awful numbers that Jones has on lefties Red won't let him face them. (This is in the mind of Redmond).

This is just leaving us with such a bad taste in our mouth and now Disco has to face the A's with us being a game under.

On the bright side. Everyone else in the division lost. So the damage was held up to a certain point, and David Price trade rumors are starting to pile up.

Why would Jones ever be allowed to face lefties? What does David Price have to do with anything?

We're about to be swept by the A's is the only thing I gathered from this post.

Don't worry man, you'll be alright!

What rumors? I know this is a post-game thread but I haven't heard much on David Price.

This team is pretty good at making you feel drained after watching them for 5 hours.

I think team will win a game at homje this weekend...maybe two if team gets lucky...I don't follow much baseball or the A's...so could be wrong. I just know they are like 48-30 and we are 39-40 and like 3.5 or...2.5 back it is.

Just based on SP match ups there's a really good chance we get swept. Maybe we take the Heaney vs Milone game if we don't committ 2-3 errors.

Redmond just admitted in the post-game show that Turner would've been next out of the bullpen. lololololol.

While he hasn't been great this season, Baker would be a more productive player if used properly. Last year the Rangers gave him twice as many AB's against lefties as opposed to righties (105 to 49) and the difference in OPS was apparent (1.074 to .536). Throughout most of his career Baker has proven that he can smash lefties but really shouldn't be hitting all that often against righties.

This year Baker has 54 AB's against lefties and 47 AB's against righties, pretty much a 50/50 split. When you have an obvious platoon player and you don't use him to his strengths, you're not going to get the best production out of them.

There's probably other examples of hitters being mismanaged on this team, but Baker seems to be a big one.

That being said the error by Baker seemed to cost us the game. It's unfortunate but it is what it is. My post above was more of a larger picture issue rather than focusing on this game alone.

Ya know, part of me really wants to say... Man it'd be soo Marlins if we just go out and take two of three from Oakland.

But looking at the series, I can't even cross my fingers for a surprisingly solid series. I hope I'm wrong though.

Actually the one saving grace is this is my birthday weekend and the Fish have pulled a few magic acts on and around my birthday. So lets see.

I really wouldn't be surprised if we took the series. They always manage to lose to the shitty teams and beat the better ones.
