March 4, 201511 yr What the hell was Luongo doing in street clothes anyway if he was capable of coming back into the game? He was ruled by the medical staff is "out -- will not return." Probably on precautionary means.

Probably on precautionary means. The season is on the line. If he's capable of playing, I don't see why they're holding him out for precautionary reasons. Seems like he demanded to go back in the game. This team is still not good enough. Fire Tallon.
March 4, 201511 yr This team, in the middle of a playoff race, is about to lose to a team that's lost 16 straight road games. That's so Panthers.

It's a no brainer, take him out. He insisted upon coming back in. Done deal, totally as it should've been.

It clearly wasn't that bad apparently. Oh well, it doesn't matter. Another non-playoff season. When's baseball season start? For as bad as the Marlins can be sometimes, they'll never be more frustrating than this POS organization.
March 4, 201511 yr Goalie injuries or not, it's unacceptable how they came out to start the game against a garbage Leafs team. The Leafs are one of the most dysfunctional organizations in sports right now. The Panthers come out to start the game like they don't give a shit and there's nothing on the line. Typical of this piece of shit team. Probably the most inconsistent team in the NHL. The only consistent thing is that you know that the game is pretty much going to be decided by one goal. And the one year there's a potential offensive generational talent in the draft, they're a fucking 9th seed.
March 4, 201511 yr What's there to disagree on? It's a matter of player health. If you don't know what's wrong with a player and he just took a shot to the neck, it's imperative that you sideline him. This happens all the time. It just so happens that a huge coincidence occurred and both goalies got injured. This is literally one in a some odd hundred thousand.
March 4, 201511 yr I agree with Dr.B here. Having a healthy Lu for the rest of the 18 games is more important that this one game against the Leafs. No one wants to see Ellis get any starts here. Need to more or less win all 3 games vs Boston.

It just so happens that a huge coincidence occurred and both goalies got injured. This is literally one in a some odd hundred thousand. I'm not saying he shouldn't have been checked out. I'm saying he never should've comeback in in the first place if it was that bad. Clearly, they felt it was bad enough to hold him out for the game. Montoya gets injured and now it's okay to bring him back in? Are they worried about him long-term or not? If he was capable of coming back in as he apparently was, let him start the 3rd. He had been checked out by that point already. The diagnosis was bad enough that he was already in street clothes so it's pretty stupid to risk it by letting him go back in. I won't go back and forth with this anymore. I've already gone back and forth enough on this garbage team with morons on hfboards, so whatever. Hopefully the abundance of losses coming on to end the year lead to Dale Tallon getting fired.

March 4, 201511 yr I just feel like this situation is so bizarre that you can't possibly be holding someone accountable for doing a routine maneuver. It's really difficult to point fingers here. It's just unfortunate, that's it.

March 4, 201511 yr SportsNet says that was the first time since the rule was put in place that a team had to dress two goalies that both goalies were incapacitated in a game. Although, technically, Montoya never left. So, since 1966-66, this has never happened.
March 8, 201511 yr Between the Panthers and Heat both fighting so playoff spots.;This is going to be a stressful month of sports.

March 9, 201511 yr Between the Panthers and Heat both fighting so playoff spots.;This is going to be a stressful month of sports. The Heat will make it and the Panthers won't. Probably not. But I don't think the Bruins will either. Ottawa is on a tear.

But I don't think the Bruins will either. Ottawa is on a tear. I think the Bruins will get in. H2H matchups are important the rest of the season. If Boston beats Ottawa on Tuesday, that'd make it extremely difficult for Ottawa. I don't know how they got back in the race really with Hammond in net. That's been quite a story. It's tough to make up so much ground at this point with not many games left and the amount of 3-point games in the NHL. The Panthers hope is that 3 of the final 11 games are against the Bruins. However, I have no confidence in this team either a) winning all 3 of those games or b) going on any sort of winning streak during the course of these final 16 games. This team never goes on a long winning streak, which is what they could use right now. Honestly, as frustrating as this team can be, I do admire their effort for the most part. They have played hard most games, but whether it's lack of talent or experience, they just can't get over the hump. They've provided some nice moments though like the other night with Ellis in net. There have been several this year, and also several letdowns. They could drive any fan to become bipolar.
March 9, 201511 yr I mean Head to Head is critical. So... Panthers have quite a bit left vs. Boston. Those alone can turn the tide or absolutely throw them out of the race. We will see.
March 11, 201511 yr Luongo is slated for Thursday. He just got ruled as out, Ellis making his third straight start.
March 15, 201511 yr Sorry, "slated" was a totally inappropriate turn. Luongo slated himself for that game, haha.
March 15, 201511 yr If we re-sign Jaromir Jagr today, it'll make me care less about the incoming loss. Please bring Jagr back. Also, please let me be like him at the age of 43...
