March 20, 201511 yr Please... give Jagr a 3 year deal. He can't refuse that. Promise to trade him any deadline he wants if they're not in it. That dude can play until he's 46. He's a legend. Clearly mobility is NOT stopping him. He's slow as fuck and a dud of a skater but he hustles his ass off anyways and his stick skills are amazing. Injuries will take this guy out before physical ability does.
March 21, 201511 yr Of all the teams to be chasing, I feel like it doesn't help that it's Boston and Ottawa. Just thinking about it, these are two of the teams that we've struggled against the most in recent years.
March 22, 201511 yr 2-1 shootout win. Ottawa beat the Leafs. Fuck the Leafs. They have like one road win in the past two months and it came here when both of our goalies got injured in the same game. Seriously, fuck them.
March 22, 201511 yr This is my point. Nothing has changed from my perspective. Had they lost in regulation, id be joining the folders. Its not exactly over right now but they sorta did what they had to do to stay alive. They might seem like they're in a better position but not really. They just need to keep winning. 10 games, 8-2 or serious luck with a lesser record does the trick. That's asking a lot, but not something they're entirely incapable of.
March 22, 201511 yr Author Needed that game in regulation. Even bigger is Boston and Tampa Bay tonight. Tough to think back on getting nothing against the Rangers and Canadiens. Looming large now.
March 22, 201511 yr Tampa up 4-1 over Boston. But really not that surprising, Tampa is a good team, even though Boston had beat them like 9 straight. Ottawa just cannot stay this hot. If they do, they deserve the slot and an ovation. Just have to try to keep pace for now.
March 22, 201511 yr I'm thinking that Andrew Hammond is coming back to life, but they also have their actual starter, Craig Anderson, healthy. Andy is a good goalie so if Hammond loses a game, Anderson will probably be back in net. As a matter of fact, our game against Ottawa, both teams will be on the 2nd of a B2B so it wouldn't surprise me if Andy plays, regardless. That's a cause for concern since Craig Anderson usually owns the Panthers.
March 23, 201511 yr I can't imagine Ottawa keeps winning to a point where we can't have fate in our own hands. With that being said, we generally don't handle things in our own hands with much delicacy. So, let's hope Ottawa finds a way to suck just as much as Boston currently sucks.
March 24, 201511 yr Don't thiink Washington is all secure up there. They play Boston and Ottawa too, we a game on hand. Exciting finish to the season from a fan perspective, so long as Boston and Florida stay around.
March 24, 201511 yr Author I get genuinely uneasy thinking about games. This Ottawa run is out of a video game.
March 24, 201511 yr Fate is in our own hands against Boston at the moment. Its sppreciable to be 5 points behind Ottawa instead of 4, for realistic purposes. Granted I'd still prefer 4 because we love the OTL, but the point is they do have to lose 3 more times than us. We have control over one of those. Need halp.
March 25, 201511 yr Did anyone really think this team was gonna go on a winning streak? Panthers gonna Panther.
March 25, 201511 yr Hey Admin, if I wanted an email for every one of Erick's pessimistic posts I would've made a topic about it. Fucking Panthers. Just win the God damn game. Why ya gotta start every game from behind?
March 25, 201511 yr The Panthers just tied it. I'm going to be negative about this too though because Goldie didn't let me enjoy the first goal. "Jussi, I'm home?!?"
March 25, 201511 yr try not being so sour and passionate... you're borderline just like the fellows you're opposing. Game by game, goal by goal...
March 25, 201511 yr So don't turn it on next time, you fucking jinx. Honestly, they suck ass. But this game was very non-characteristic. For one, we scored three whole goals. Two... we came back after being horribly deflated. Three... we actually coughed up the lead, which we've been pretty good about not doing. Came at the worst time, considering they just moved back behind Boston again. They continue to insist upon begging for help. It's so typical of our history though, so I assume everyone is used to this.
March 25, 201511 yr Author That was brutal. When Callahan scored, I have never felt so deflated. Luongo could have been better and made the save on the second and fourth goals. This would have set up perfectly for Thursday against Toronto with Ottawa hosting the Rangers and Boston hosting the Ducks. Its like no matter how much we seem to do right, there is always something that has you writhing in pain. Uncharacteristic and just plain brutal. It is good the young guys are playing these types of games. And I guess Tampa Bay had to get their annual third period comeback against the Panthers out of the way.
