July 12, 201412 yr #RoccoGrimaldi #ReligiousConvictions I hate to be that guy but holy shit he's a kicksss player but I can't help notice the super religious fellows drooling over him. I had at one point followed him on twitter and even had a few twitter convos with him- but his religiousness pushed me to unfollow. A perfect amount is what Stevie C does, once in a while and not over bearing- almost like- this is what I'm doing now. Rocco's almost seemed to be preaching. I hope he excels, but as a bad Catholic the one thing I believe in is not overbearing people with my own beliefs. My opinions however, I want their ears to bleed. I succeed in that.
July 24, 201412 yr I am happy the Panthers took Ekblad because my Sabres got the guy they wanted. It could not have had a better team beat them out for the lottery. It was like it never happened.
July 28, 201412 yr f*** the Sabres. I don't know why, but I used to hate Michael Peca so fucking much in the late 90's.
July 29, 201412 yr I don't know why, but I used to hate Michael Peca so f***ing much in the late 90's. I so wanted a Miroslav Satan jersey in high school. You know a Satan.
August 1, 201412 yr There's not a whole lot of tradeable stuff we've got. Howden is a good player, but pretty apparent that he's probably going to have to reinvent his play because he struggles offensively at the pro level. Nobody really wants to part with that lunatic, Rocco Grimaldi. I don't really want to, either, though. Same goes with Trochek, although I'm a little more willing due to logjam. Moving Petrovic might be a bad idea, considering how thin we are at the defensive position when injuries come around. Same goes for Matheson and McCoshen. Am I missing anyone else of relevance? I don't think once you start to mention names like Rau or Robak or all that stuff, teams wont be interested. So... yeah... if you ask me... the Panthers have a pretty difficult time being buyers at the moment. Best thing to do is just play it out, and attempt to sell on Fleischmann/Upshall. Growing pains. Hate to be the one to say it... but we are 'in a rebuild'. And it's a different rebuild from when Tallon started here. Different 'blueprint'. This time we can actually execute the plan though, assuming ownership doesn't bitch out on this whole 'spending' idea. A proper rebuild requires it. Otherwise, it's not a rebuild. It's called 'getting lucky.' And just to add one more line to this unevenly spaced post... the Panthers don't know 'lucky' when it hits them in the face. See all the early 00's trades. Oh, and they certainly don't get 'lucky' when it is supposed to be a gimme... see guys like Weiss, Bouwmeester, and the Sidney Crosby sweepstakes (fucking rig).
August 1, 201412 yr Author Howden and Shore are very talented players so perhaps one of them could be moved. They both have shown some ability to score in the NHL. Also, I would have no problem moving Petrovic. I just don't see the hype in him. I certainly don't think Tallon sees this as a rebuild. If Upshall can do what he did last year and Fleischmann and Huberdeau bounce back as they should, that's three huge pieces. Last year was just a disaster for Fleischmann especially when he has done nothing but improve every year.
August 1, 201412 yr I don't know what Howden and what Shore you're watching, but neither have shown scoring touch at the NHL, much less professional hockey in general. Both have shorn to be valuable assets with *some* offensive production, but mostly around a two way game. I think everyone sees that in Shore, but a guy like Howden still is up in the air. They're both likely third line players.
August 1, 201412 yr Also, Upshall only had the season he had because of the increased role he saw. Much like Kopecky the year before. Unfortunately, not everyone can have an increased role.
August 14, 201412 yr So Denis Potvin is coming back as the color man on the TV broadcasts. Is Goldy and Billy staying as well?
August 14, 201412 yr Goldy still will do play-by-play, Billy moves to pregame, intermissions, and postgame.
August 15, 201412 yr Other watt round. Billy was an idiot. He knew nothing. He is a homer. He's like Tommy Hutton if Tommy Hutton had no idea what he was talking about.
August 16, 201412 yr Everybody's got their opinion, but I didn't mind Billy nearly as much. I've seen much much worse.
September 20, 201411 yr Regarding Billy Lindsay, he's all-around terrible. I thought Goldie was terrible at first too, but at least Goldie has improved over the years.
September 20, 201411 yr Author He's better than that dweeb Drew Goldfarb doing intermissions. I like Lindsay, he was not the best but I still like him. Should be interesting to have Potvin back. However, Drew Goldfarb is actually an abomination, not to mention quite unattractive/annoying to look at.
