I actually did read it on my phone.... while taking a massive dump. I scrolled through, Saw he thinks Lucroy is the better MVP over Tulo, then Votes Stanton second.

I continued scrolling, saw there was more- and cut through the BS CY/ROY races and saw the Manager of the year- AL First. Once I got to the NL MOTY I knew where the gag was.

It wasn't that hard.... my poop and going scrolling through.

I also placed three bids on ebay and sent a few emails---- ah the luxury of technology.

Oh- and I replied to this thread twice.

Great. Stop debating with me about it. You said you wouldn't. It's not up to debate for you, because you're so awesome and what you've said is the word of the all knowing. Don't know why you're still talking about it.

I can't help but notice your use for four stops in your ellipsis. It's three. You're wrong. I'm better than you now, so can you just stfu already?

Excuse me, my point is clear! Three not four! Fuck off!

I got coffee today and I thought maybe...

I see him winning it if he gets into the playoffs for sure.

I think some of us wish he wins it in the same fashion as Joe Girardi.

Lucroy for NL MVP over Tulo and Giancarlo is actually worse than Red for MOTY, IMO. I know they aren't on the best teams, but there shouldn't be any doubt about Tulo being MVP this season through the AS break...

Actually, I think you're really underrating Lucroy.

I couldn't help but LOL at this...

but then I felt like Penguino.

The only thing Piazza is capable of beating up is English grammar.

I don't know if you know this but...

Absolutely not, I think Lucroy is right there behind Tulo and Giancarlo. But he's really not better than either of them this year at anything. I understand he plays a demanding position, remember, so does Tulo (who would get my vote).

Catcher is twice (or more) as demanding as shortstop.

I might agree, but even then Tulo is having such a far superior offensive season.

Tulo has been the best player in the NL, but Lucroy can make a good case for second best.

I agree, absolutely. All three of them have been deserving, so clearly the second half is going to be what sets them apart. I think if one of those three can remain healthy all season, good chance that one wins it.

If I had to predict the future, I'd say that none of the three win it. Andrew McCutchen is another deserving candidate and I think his offense is more sustainable than Lucroy's. He also plays on a better team than Tulo/Stanton which usually means something to the voters.

I think the whole winning team thing makes a big difference when it's a really close race, last year was a great example between Cutch and Goldy. But IMO, if the season ended today, Tulo's year is just too good to deny. Lucky for Giancarlo, though, there's probably a higher probability of both Lucroy and Tulo either getting hurt or fading, as I mentioned their positions are more demanding.

As far as Tulo/Lucroy - Tulo's home ballpark has been a major factor in his stats this year, as Coors usually is - .432/.514/.733/1.247 11 homers and 30 RBI at home, .265/.367/.463/.830 7 homers and 17 RBI on the road - still very good slash line either way, especially for shortstop.

Overall, Tulo's slash line: .348/.440/.597/1.037

Lucroy has been the opposite, which is weird, cause Milwaukee is a bit of a hitter's park, isn't it?

Home: .290/.368/.386/.754 3 homers and 18 RBI

Away: .358/.418/.615/1.032 6 homers and 26 RBI

Overall: .327/.396/.512/.908

Almost same number of games [85 Tulo, 84 Lucroy] - Lucroy, again, playing a more demanding position in catcher - and overall some pretty similar numbers, all things considered. Take Coors into effect, put Tulo in a somewhat more neutral park (hell, put him in Milwaukee for 81 games), and Lucroy has him beat easily.

I know, I know, it's a big "what if" situation, but personally, with those numbers, I'd go with Lucroy over Tulo.

Not only that, the MVP award doesn't mean "best player" like Rookie of the Year (for qualifiers) does - it's for Most Valuable. Writers will also go for Lucroy for this simple set of numbers right here:

Colorado Rockies: 38-53

Milwaukee Brewers: 52-39

If you want to play the park factor game, Giancarlo should be MVP without a shadow of a doubt.

*sigh* It was a post between Lucroy and Tulowitzki.

I understand, however, before your post we had clearly mentioned Giancarlo and Cutch in the conversation. You were the one cutting everyone else out of the running, which when you adjust for home/away as you did, I imagine Giancarlo is definitely the most impressive candidate.
