August 8, 201411 yr Jennings to the 7 day DL. Flynn to AAA. Kike to AAA. Olmos up. Disco up. Lucas up.
August 8, 201411 yr Author Jennings was a necessary move given the circumstances and Flynn was hilari-bad. I don't like replacing Hernandez with Lucas though. Same positional versatility, huge difference in upside.
August 8, 201411 yr Good to see Jennings injury is simply a concussion and not something much worse. Other than that its safe to say this team doesn't know what to do at this point. There's been more people getting called up and down this year than I can ever remember. Feels like the team is just winging it at this point.
August 8, 201411 yr Jeffrey Loria is going to flip his shit at the end of this season when he sees how much money he spent on airline tickets this year.
August 8, 201411 yr Jeffrey Loria is going to flip his shit at the end of this season when he sees how much money he spent on airline tickets this year. or use all the frequent flyer miles for some kick-ass trips this off-season
August 8, 201411 yr Good to see Jennings is ok. Olmos has some decent numbers and a power arm but got to limit the home runs. Really need Alvarez and Cosart. As for Hernandez, I like him a lot but he looked pretty hopeless, probably pressing so just needs to get into a groove and come back.
August 8, 201411 yr or use all the frequent flyer miles for some kick-ass trips this off-season His rebuttal would be, "Yea, kick ass trips with the miles. But no money to spend when I get there 'cause of all the damn roster moves!"
August 8, 201411 yr He'll use those frequent flier miles to go to wherever they're shooting the next Survivor as a bonus he can always buy a child's ticket for Samson,, let's hope he does better next time around
August 8, 201411 yr Is it me, but does it look like Jennings is actually earning his paycheck compared to Beinfest? I can not remeber a year with Beinfest at the helm we continuously tried to find the right mix. Almost like he was too uncertain to send up and down players. It feels like Beinfest mailed it in since 2008 TBH.
August 8, 201411 yr Jennings to the 7 day DL. Flynn to AAA. Kike to AAA. Olmos up. Disco up. Lucas up. Proof that this organization is anti-semitic.

Same positional versatility, huge difference in upside. They want Kike to get regular PT rather than just sitting on the bench with Valdespin playing too well to sit.
August 8, 201411 yr Author They want Kike to get regular PT rather than just sitting on the bench with Valdespin playing too well to sit. .232/.283/.411. Better than expected, but by no means "playing too well to sit"
August 8, 201411 yr .232/.283/.411. Better than expected, but by no means "playing too well to sit" He recently cooled off but he was playing his ass off for a while. Probably hoping he picks it back up. I don't have a problem with Kike getting regular PT in AAA.
August 8, 201411 yr I don't see this as winging it at all, dim. Whether we agree with all the moves or not they all have a purpose. Olmos simply replaces Jennings as the 2nd lefty. Disco is the fresh pen arm for one day until Penny comes up tomorrow. And if Kike is gonna solely be a bench player might as well let Lucas take that role so that Kike gets regular playing time. I wish they gave Kike more than one start but if Valdespin is starting might as well give Lucas the bench role. And yes Wild Card, I do see GM Jennings more proactive with his roster moves, for better or worse.

August 9, 201411 yr Holy crap Piazza... I dunno how I did that. Totally apologize. I guess I owe one.
August 9, 201411 yr Post game, Olmos down, Penny up. Figured Disco was gonna be the one sent down but I guess Disco > Olmos. Also, if Disco is here to save the pen a few innings then his multiple innings is definitely more valuable than Olmos' LOOGY work.
August 9, 201411 yr So 56-59 now. Can anyone name our short term goals? We will get Alvarez and cosart back. But that's pitching and that's been okay so far? Mcgehee is swinging better I suppose and maybe Stanton is heating up. Then what?

August 9, 201411 yr Short term goals? Win tomorrow. ...but I know what u meant and the correct answer is... Get back to .500 Get to .500 then take off from there. I always set the marlins bench mark for a playoff spot at 91 wins. Every year. However with how everyone is so bunched up, 88 wins could get us in one of the two spots.
