This organization is an embarrassment at the moment. I know the players won't say it, but it seems apparent firing Redmond was a huge confidence killer. It also doesn't help when every manager ever gets fired, and in this instance the new manager is your former GM.

 

There's so much wrong and yet there's so much talent. There's a disconnect between what the team playing on the field is capable of and the actual results. It's embarrassing and I'm actually tired of watching the team changed pieces every year trying to pretend that the problem doesn't start from the top. If Loria wants to stay owner, fine. But he needs to maintain an actual payroll and keep his damn hands out of the day to day business. We can't be putting a GM with basically no experience at manager, and we need starting pitchers (something that many on this board correctly predicted when we were in the hunt for Shields).

 

This team is definitely fixable and it really wouldn't take much to fix it. When players like Prado and Morse, Salty and Latos, and multiple other examples come from other organizations and go from being successful in their careers to dying in Miami, there's an internal problem with coaching, management, something. I know there are many examples of success from players like Dee and Morris and Cosart to an extent, and many of the failures are beyond team control, but that doesn't change my opinion that there is a structural problem in Miami. Unfortunately, things aren't going to change until the man in charge either changes his ways or goes away completely. It is very, very sad to watch.

Honestly, what could it hurt to bring up some dudes from the minors who have earned the shot? Stanton keeps saying there's no fire, who's more fired up than a bunch of dudes finally getting a shot? Also, maybe a kick in the ass back to triple A for some of these dudes will right the ship, cause god knows they aren't THIS bad.

​The Zephyrs have the best team ERA in the PCL. And they also have two of the top hitters in the PCL in Rottino and Rojas. Rottino is a catcher. So we could 60-day Mathis or Kelly to get him here.

 

 

See if the Giants want Morse back for McGehee. Not to play, but he must have brought something to the clubhouse. More likely him than Garrett Jones or Reed Johnson.

​It all started with Henry Rodriguez.  There was a story in the Miami times about how he and Bobby Bonilla started the botanica on east 4th ave and 41st street and used it as a front to sell drugs.  I think Jorge Fabregas made the arrest.  I'm so fucking done guys. At this point just give Urena/Nicolino/Flores a shot (Kendry Flores is the guy we got in the McGehee trade and has posted an ERA under 2 in his 8 starts this year). We really don't have any hitting prospects worth trying out, but Urena and Nicolino are definitely two guys that need to be given a shot if the season reaches a point beyond repair, and we're getting pretty close to that point. Take Koehler, Latos, Haren, maybe even Cosart out of the rotation and use two of these slots to put Urena and Nicolino in. If they fail who cares given it will be a way for the team to find out if they can be legitimate rotation arms moving forward.

 

Nicolino we'd likely have to wait until early June given Super 2 and all, but Urena can be given a shot now. I'm all for it. It's not like I'm happy seeing guys like Latos/Haren/Cosart being exactly what they are every day and not giving us a real chance to win all that often.

Saying we don't have hitting prospects to call up is simply wrong. Rottino and Miguel Rojas are both top 10 hitters in the PCL right now and Shoemaker is absolutely raking. Dude is really hyped to get a shot in the majors after missing all of 2013. Before the injury, he posted amazing numbers at every level he ever played at. He is an extremely under the radar guy who can contribute tons of power along with an amazing plate presence and patience. I really think even at 28 this dude is a future 2-5 hole hitter. His power probably better suits him for the 4-5 slot but the patience he shows rivals the power and he could definitely be a top of the order catalyst.

 

All three of those dudes should be with the Marlins right now.
