December 9, 201510 yr Apparently some of the walls are going to be as low as 5.5 feet and as high as 11.5 feet. They are currently between 11.5 and 13 feet. That seems a little short to me. Also, it is reported that center field will be 407 instead of 418. I don't like that, I think 410-412 would have been better and perhaps with a shorter wall.
December 9, 201510 yr The Marlins are trying to have Stanton break Bonds's record while being coached by Barry Bonds. And they are trying to have Ichiro get 3000 hits. All while finishing in last place.
December 9, 201510 yr Shit... Samson said "it'll have a very cool look to it" which since its the Marlins means it'll probably be some jagged up and down zig zag pattern in awkward shapes with sharp variations in height and they'll consider it "art."

December 9, 201510 yr Culture of losing. Loria completely failed his 2012-2015 that he resorts to lowering the fences to help boast the offense. It would be funny if this thing bombs too. We hit no homers while the opposition hits 5 a night
December 9, 201510 yr I don't mind the fences coming in just as long as it doesn't look half assed and dumb.

We hit no homers while the opposition hits 5 a night this is is actually a very likely scenario with the current group of fly ball extraordinaires we call a pitching staff
December 9, 201510 yr this is is actually a very likely scenario with the current group of fly ball extraordinaires we call a pitching staff This is why with this news you should have traded Koehler and made a serious push for grienke
December 9, 201510 yr This is why with this news you should have traded Koehler and made a serious push for grienke this is another good point. If the marlins are realy dramatically moving the fences in, I hope they understand that salad's road splits are terrible and that his home splits will soon follow. ie trade his ass

December 9, 201510 yr I always cringe when Koehler would pitch against the Mets or the Nationals. Bryce Harper loves him some TK. Guy launches off of him. Those dimensions suck. The CF is fine. Standard is around 404 - 410. They should have kept the height the same in LF and RF. I always liked how Turner Field how theirs laid out.
December 9, 201510 yr By moving the fences in, are they adding another crap monstrosity like in CF , are they adding one in LF and RF?

December 9, 201510 yr I like the idea of lowering the walls (to allow the home run robbing catches that were non existent before) and I like the idea that they're focusing on deep center and right center as far as distances... That would allow the park to play more fair without forcing it into a total hitter's paradise. I just hope they're not making the walls too low. My other concern is that they do the construction properly so it looks professional, almost as if it looks like it was built this way from the start. Not what the Mets had (and might still have) where they basically just put the new wall in front of the old wall and there was an awkward gap between the two walls and it looked like a patchwork repair job.

Those plans aren't concrete (pardon the pun) but ideas being tossed around are extra seats and a "hall of fame" of sorts like other teams have done

December 9, 201510 yr My sources tell me that the Marlins will be erecting a shrine for the Solano family in right field.
