4/13 Marlins @ Mets

How tall is David Samson? He is a little leprechaun lol I just saw that picture of Ichiro and Samson in Japan... GEEEZZZZ cuz Ichiro is only 5'11

My understanding is he was drafted at 93+ and stayed there his first year until he got injured. He has a nice velocity spike (mlb last) that corresponded with his success which was a return to finally being healthy.

Watching him pitch live you kinda wonder how he gets that high. He throws across his body and isn't exactly a physical specimen. Kinda weird. Hope he isn't doomed for more injuries.

Also I didn't mean to sound like some asshole elitist and again I think we were referring to different things, you stuff me team value.

I took a pic with David, he's pretty short cause I'm taller and I'm only 5'11" too

Cavanerio and Mader have the stuff and makeup to make it as roty arms. Higgins could wind up in the pen but I would like to see him play out as a starter

If you want to go even further into it, Jeff Brigham is a while away but he already is throwing 97. Only has three pitches but can throw the FB anywhere he wants. If he pans out he will be damn solid

Mader is in Jupiter and is coming off a near 5 ERA season in Greensboro. Cavanerio also has never had a season with an ERA under 4 and is also in Jupiter.

I think we have very different definitions of what real prospects are.

Brigham is an interesting name because he succeeded in short time with the Marlins system last year, but nothing about a 24 year old in Jupiter instills any confidence in a real long term prospect. Brigham's future is more likely as a long reliever down the line.

And it's interesting you bring up all these guys in Jupiter. There's more to the system than just that. The team's most interesting current prospects are likely KJ Woods and Josh Naylor, and both those guys are three years away from the majors only if they completely demolish everybody.

They grow em small in NY.

By the way where are you today?

I think we were kinda sticking to startig pitchers. Of course there's more to the system. I also brought up Higgins who is in AA. If you'd like me to name someone else who could make an impact as a 3-5 guy I could throw out Jarlin Garcia.

Even Jarlin Garcia has future bullpen arm written all over him. We also have much better relievers in the system than Higgins, namely Barraclaugh, Ellington, Ege, and Wittgren. But once those guys all get the call up Higgins should see time in AAA. This is his third straight season in AA, which isn't a good sign at all.

I like how people think I should be at every fish game here just because I live in NY, I probably attend more Marlins games than 95% of fans, I just go to them in Miami.

No excuses. Every game damnit.
