Vince just said the truth.

There's saying the team has problems, and constantly saying culture of losing to the point of just trolling. He has become a troll and his opinion is worthless on this board if he isn't adding anything other than stupidity.

It was a one year deal and the amount of money wasn't franchise killing. I still have no issue with it at all. It was a short term, low risk financially move that didn't work out. I'd do the move again just because any small chance of him becoming an established #2 again would've made us a playoff contender.

what's ya point?

far from the truth. and I won't stoop low to insult you. so you can nip that in the bud.

I'm not looking to insult you, but your constant stupid posts that have nothing to do with the actual game detract people from wanting to actually read this board and add to a stereotype that message board posts devolve into drivel and stupidity. Constant whining with no substance is not worth reading, and that's all you're adding at the moment.

if you read between the lines, I have a lot to offer. everything that ive said this year is very eerie to whatever has gone on in the past.

I wonder how he's doing with his new teammates. he was so problematic everywhere else.

He's definitely a bad locker room guy, but as long as he's pitching well I'm sure he's not bothering anybody. The problem becomes when he's pitching poorly and still sees himself as a top level pitcher.

That would've been a stupid decision. Latos was bad here and wouldn't be any better here this season. He's lost a lot of what made him good in the past, regardless of what his basic stats say right now.

Even he has perfect record in other team, you still think he would be suck here !? I think you agreed the culture of losing thing.

Trading a young promising SP in addition to Wallach for dude with declining peripherals for one year? no way jose!

The point is anybody can come in here and play revisionist history. The fact remains the Latos move was a calculated risk by the Marlins that wasn't a bad move like everybody wants to call it now that the results show he sucked. It was one year, it didn't kill the team payroll, and we had backup pitching options until injuries took their toll. The move should've been made, it just didn't work out.

For what we gave up I was hoping for Leake. I was disappointed when I found out it was for latos.

I think of maybe 2 starts last year where he was lights out. Wrigley and AT&T

At the time Desclafani appeared destined to be a long reliever. There's still a chance that may be correct. Desclafani also wasn't among our top 4 starting pitchers at the time. Wallach was a guy coming off a season in Greensboro as a college graduate and was no sure thing to succeed beyond. That has since been proven to be true.

Everybody at the time believed the Reds were selling low on Latos, even their own team's fans. I'd like to have Desclafani now, but at the time we had pitching depth and Latos was a shot at the playoffs.

And as we discuss trades barraclough just kept the game tied in furtherance of the prophecy of Vince.

I just hope for the sake of putting this to rest, we score 10 runs in the 8th. but ive seen this story far too much. I'm even getting nervous.

LOL you are really dumb if you think Desclafani and Wallach gets you leak. Nobody with half a brain honestly believed that. Hell it shouldn't have been able to net us Latos, but it did.

YES, nice!!!

No way. Maybe on this board. The fangraphs types were all over Latos going to decline dramatically. My personal stance on it was I was okay with it but thought it had a good chance to be a disaster

Generally trading prospects or promising young arms for aging pitchers coming off injury is usually a terrible idea.

If you're going to make this claim, you better provide examples to back it up.
