May 31, 201610 yr Hahaha, Urena is still on the team and likely still the first option out of the bullpen in close games that aren't in the 7th, 8th, or 9th innings yet. Also, @pollyvonwog Don hasn't been able to make any good bullpen decisions besides Phelpers, I doubt he uses Dunn correctly. If anything, I expect Dunn to become the 7th inning guy regardless of matchups.
May 31, 201610 yr Edwin Jackson gave up a hit to carter Capps. Thanks for nothing. We just became an 83 win team. Now let's get to work on urena.

May 31, 201610 yr Get the fuck outta here. Did not see this coming. Not that it's not deserved but a veteran with a guaranteed contract making the minimum isn't the kind of guy this team typically DFAs before we even get to June. Shocked and a bit horrified that Urena survives this cut though. Proud of them for cutting their losses with Edwin regardless.
May 31, 201610 yr bearclaw hasn't done anything to lose the 7th inning job Exactly. The issue hasn't been the 7-8-9 when it's Bearclaw, Phelps, Ramos it has been the 6th inning that has been real problematic. Dunn will help a lot with this.
May 31, 201610 yr bearclaw hasn't done anything to lose the 7th inning job He doesn't need to. In Donnie's world, veterans are more important than results. See: Narveson, Chris; Breslow, Craig; Jackson, Edwin.
May 31, 201610 yr He doesn't need to. In Donnie's world, veterans are more important than results. See: Narveson, Chris; Breslow, Craig; Jackson, Edwin. The issue is.. and somebody said it really well about a month ago is that Donnie is set in his ways with who he wants to pitch in that inning regardless of the circumstances.

May 31, 201610 yr Author It's funny because Edwin Jackson got a no-trade clause. He should've gotten a no-DFA clause
May 31, 201610 yr I was convinced it was going to be Urena getting optioned and not Jackson. That would have been the better baseball move.
May 31, 201610 yr did not see this coming???? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA:bitch_please-min: Don't start with me bro. You wished for this but I dont think you really thought they'd do it.
May 31, 201610 yr If anything, I expect Dunn to become the 7th inning guy regardless of matchups. If that means Barraclough goes to the sixth inning instead of Urena, I'll take it.
May 31, 201610 yr I was convinced it was going to be Urena getting optioned and not Jackson. This. Pretty shocked by this move. Optioning Urena means no risk of losing him. they now have a huge chance of losing Jackson. I'm shocked this team would rather lose Jackson than option Urena and keep both. Again, not that Jackson didn't have this coming but I wouldn't have guessed they'd make this move.
May 31, 201610 yr Whats it going to take to get Urena optioned out to New Orleans? Apart from the miracle of LA, his work has been consistently putrid. Shocked that he's still around.
May 31, 201610 yr Don't start with me bro. You wished for this but I dont think you really thought they'd do it. Marlins are my team. Disappointing 85% but the other 15% they give me that ear to ear smile. Top 100 moments in Marlins history today.
May 31, 201610 yr Whats it going to take to get Urena optioned out to New Orleans? He's put a lot of work into getting sent down, can't fault the effort. Urena's done his part, it's up to Mattingly & the FO now. If they all work together I know the org can make this happen.
May 31, 201610 yr I don't think they can They really do need to make it happen. Summon the will! It needs to come from somewhere. Perhaps in viewing the standings as Urena's contribution to our loss total mounts and as we fall further behind, perhaps that will provide the necessary inspiration to the org.
