Gained ground on the Nats and Mets this past series. The Cards gained a game on us by pulling tonight's game out of their ass. Salty about the Padres letting that 5-1 8th inning lead disappear. 

 

 

Great win. Marlins were overdue for a laugher.

 

We'll find out soon how serious Loria is about ending this ridiculous playoff drought.

Damn Cardinals won't go away. Piscotty and Diaz carrying that offense. Swept a double header yesterday and came back down 5-1 in the 8th today.

Holliday got hit in the head by Cashner but X-rays were negative. Cardinals will stick around somehow. Although I think Carpenter and Moss are still not available for awhile.

I'm not convinced the cardinals will get it together. While they don't flat out suck I've never seen that team have as many issues as they've had this year. It's like it's not THE St Louis Cardinals.

I'm not sure why we are so worried about the Cardinals, either. There are two Wild Card spots. The Marlins and Cardinals can both make the playoffs. Kershaw is likely out for an extended period of time and the Mets are having more issues than people want to admit.

 

 

Yeah the Kershaw situation stinks for the Dodgers he did not feel right with his back last time he did a bullpen session. He is out indefinitely.

 

Cardinals defense is atrocious, if there is one thing hurting them it is that. Molina isn't right and Holliday is not having a good year. Couple in the fact that they haven't played well at home in a place they notoriously do well at. I agree with [uSER=2328]@SilverBullet1929[/uSER] that they fade out at the end.

 

The Mets are another issue. Their handling of Thor and Matz is going to hurt them big time. I feel like it is just a matter of time before those elbows really give out.

 

 

Bottom line, we're positioned pretty nicely for a run. It's as much about how much those teams are struggling as anything else. Which is why we need to find a way to make some upgrades because the window has opened for us. I said about a month ago there were four things that had to happen for us to be serious contenders, two of the things have happened, two are still to be determined.
