2016 Trade Deadline Thread

14 teams in MLB have a better team OPS than the Marlins.

Yes but that's deceiving. AL teams have a DH in the lineup so they should have higher OPS than NL teams.

Conversely, NL teams should have lower ERAs because they don't have to face DHs  unless they play at an AL park in inter league play.

You have to compare NL teams to other NL teams.

1st in the NL in BA

6th in the NL in OPS

10th in the NL in runs.  And we've played more games than most teams in the league.

Yuck.

I wonder what's happening.  OPS should correlate to runs, unless we're making baserunning mistakes or the other teams aren't making as many errors against us. Or our hitting is really really untimely.

But 10th in the league in runs?  That's not going to get it done with our pitching staff.

I dont watch enough games, but maybe Lenny Harris sucks at his job of when to send a runner or not send a runner.

Anyone have some insight?

didnt someone say he would miss most of next year also around here?

More than one. This forum has been bizarre with Capps TJ treating it like it's the end of his career or something ridiculous. He's a RP which means his recovery time is shorter than SP. 2017 was never in doubt unless the surgery was unsuccessful (and the unsuccessful rate is pretty darn low these days on TJ #1)

Now that is out from under the Marlins medical staff now, he can actually recover.  I swear they can turn a sinus infection into tommy john surgery.

Capps threw 75 pitches from 45 feet on Tuesday and plans on being ready to go for spring training, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Just can't wait to see his first MLB game after TJ,and if he was still as perfect as unrealistic and strike out a ton of our hitters then we just could appeal to MLB for his delivery, yea we could appeal now after he's gone.

I hope the Marlins open next year v San Diego and Capps pitches a perfect inning against the Marlins.

Giancarlo swing his first pitch to the upper deck !!

I hope Capps preserves the save for them with 3 Ks in 9 pitches, and then leads off the bottom of the 9th and hits a walk off HR. After crossing the plate he will pile up some clay into a "Hill" and then piss on it.

I don't get it. Did Capps have some disagreement with Perry Hill over something?
