What do you guys think?  Is Preston going to be a permanent feature in the booth which I would hate?  Do you think they would give Nelson a chance at it?

 

I doubt we will get Tommy back, but what is your idea of the next best option?

 

 

I think the team couldn't find a full time replacement for this season so they did the revolving team until finding a full time guy hopefully for next season. With that said, Preston has no other commitments like Perez, Leiter, even Conine, therefore that tells me the Marlins do NOT want him full time because if they did, he'd already have been given the job. He fit into their revolving door idea for this year but next year will go back to pre and post game and occasional fill in.

I personally really like Nelson where he is. I love the way he sums up how the game went and is very honest. Not sure how he would do in the booth. I wouldn't mind Al Leiter at all. Tommy obviously being choice #1

I'd only like Leiter if he has no other commitments because I'm already over his "I only watch when I'm here" schtick. Its not his fault but it's more and more obvious every time. Nelson, you're right, is wonderful in the post game as he speaks about the team almost like he doesn't work for them and thus he isn't afraid to rag them when needed. He doesn't play the homer role. Ironically that's what got Tommy canned and even then Tommy could also be a homer at times as well so we'll see.
