Stanton hurt again

Featured Replies

For as much as Stanton gets hurt it's pretty much never his fault or anything he could do or have done to prevent it. As much as people wanna label him injury prone he's arguably not. It's basically nothing but bad luck.

it's stanton - he'll be out a month or more with "residual soreness" or something that will linger like every other time.

and i don't give two shits about him being in the derby.  i don't even give one shit for that matter.  i want him in the lineup.  that's what he gets paid for and he's been doing quite well in there lately.  this has to be the worst season in recent memory in terms of games lost to injury.  it's unreal how many injuries they've had this year.  I still think Yelich is having his back spasms or something else has been nagging him all year - not the hip flexor from that game recently but something else.

I want Stanton in the HR Derby.  It's in Miami for the first time and he is our HR Derby champ.

I give...........7 shits.

oh i'll be watching the derby for whichever rep we have in it (in case Stanton is injured at the time) but the derby is the very last thing on my mind when it comes to seeing him getting hit and being injured.  He needs to go through the same secret government program and get some adamantium infused into his body like Dietrich apparently has.

Stanton may be available to pinch hit today and the hope is that he can start on Tuesday.  It appears they (and he) got extremely lucky.

That would imply L a r r y got lucky

Eh, the last few injuries, yeah. But 2011 and 2013 were probably due to poor conditioning with his legs, and in 2012, did he really need to get the "loose bodies" surgery when he did? He was hitting fine and played defense just fine, as well. If he hadn't opted for surgery right then, who knows how that season would have gone? Probably wouldn't have needed to blow up the team.

2014 fastball to the face, 2015 was a freak occurrence, and ... I don't remember why he missed time last year. Anyone?

Last year it was when got caught between first and second base and made a horrible abrupt awkward slide into second and tore his groin muscle. Yea I remember the early injuries that were more his fault than just bad luck but I think my point is still fair. He misses time every year but enough times have not been his fault for me to not call him injury prone. There's probably many more players who get hurt on their own accord than him, it's just that he's our big star and the shit luck injuries happen to mix in with the other injuries and he seems more injury prone than he is.

If we didn't have this always injured boat anchor on our team we'd be 5 games over .500 this year!
