fish20
If he makes us profitable that quickly, good for him writing in a bonus based on that profitability. That seems like something that is deserved if he is able to turn this team's finances around that quickly.
fish20
Easy to turn a profit if you slash payroll below revenue sharing + disney money in 2018. clearly not considering how much money this team was losing annually previously despite still never having anything close to a top payroll. fish20
and btw i was referring to making us profitable consistently long term, not just this upcoming year based on lump sum non-annual payments.
fish20
Apples meet oranges. Way to not respond to what I said in any coherent manner. first off, i did. second, i was referring to being able to turn a profit consistently and not just based on a one year huge lump sum payment. fish20
This statement couldn't be easier to comprehend. I didn't say they've done it or not done it yet. I simply said: "Easy to turn a profit if you slash payroll below revenue sharing + disney money in 2018. " I'm not sure how anyone can debate this one. and i wasnt referring only to 2018. so congrats on your obvious, off topic from what i was saying statement i guess? Das Texan
You have to really suck at running a business to not be profitable in 2018 MLB. and 2017 MLB. and so on for the 2010 decade.
Das Texan
The Marlins not even counting revenue sharing will make 120 million before selling one ticket. 50 mil national tv deals 20 mil their local deal 50 mil from MLB AM sale Not even including revenue sharing, which is probably somewhere between 20-40 mil for the Marlins. Just a ballpark guess as I cant find any numbers on it. You have to really suck to not make money in MLB these days. Aka kinda like Jeff Loria and company. Its too bad we can see the books and see how much of that money was paid to one of the Loria shell companies contributing to the massive debt of the Marlins. fish20
Well as you can see from my post, I specifically said 2018 so congrats on your inability to comprehend my writing. Wait a second, aren't you the guy who said my reading comprehension stinks? Hahahaha projecting. You responded to my post, not the other way around. I wasnt talking about just 2018, and you brought up 2018 alone. So you either had poor reading comprehension or completely went off topic from what i was saying. SilverBullet
I have no problem with Jeter paying himself but I absolutely see how this doesn't look good when the team is in debt and is trying to fix their financial problems and this guy has his own bonuses already planned out. Probably should have found a way to deflect this, if that was even possible.
Das Texan
Bruce Sherman is Jeffrey Loria 2.0 New Yorkers buying into Miami baseball. Brilliant.

Can we say that at least Sherman not wanting to actually run the team is one thing he has "better" than Loria?
fish20
I might invest in Project Wolverine if Derek Jeter would stop paying fish20 minimum wage to be a mindless shill for him. or god forbid i have an open mind to a new ownership group and not over analyze their every move and overly scrutinize every little piece of information. HOLY SHIT!!! A company that bases bonuses on profitability of the organization after years of the organization losing money!!! the horror. fish53
So, he gets a bonus if the team is profitable-then what were the expectations for the base $5 million? Maybe we give Mike Hill bonuses everytime he doesn't get taken in a deal, or if he actually makes a fair deal, give him a bonus.
Entendu
Why is Derek Jeter in charge of running a multi million dollar business?
Entendu
Cause he banged a bunch of models. That should be an effect of, not a prerequisite for
THRILLHO
I don’t know. Maybe the team will be more profitable if they’re good all the time which you know...:they have never been before
SilverBullet
Why is Derek Jeter in charge of running a multi million dollar business? Because he bought the business from a Yankees fanboy.

There is no fucking way they lost money in 2014 and 2015. I doubt they really lost money in 2016.
