3/29/18 Post Game Opening Day

Featured Replies

Calm down. It’s not like he went out there and K’d three times. Opening day for a rookie batting lead off after being dubbed the future of a franchise. Rolled over on a couple cutters against Lester. It happens

I said take away of the DAY. Yesterday he looked terrible, off not only Lester. He was ridiculously off balance the whole game. And don’t frame it as if Lester was dominating yesterday-he was just as off as Urena. So again, I’m not dragging the kid down overall, I said yesterday he looked like a single A player out there. He’ll regroup

“We’re going to have an energetic club,” noted left fielder Derek Dietrich in the postgame clubhouse.

Nuff said

And what I’m saying is I think that’s an interesting take for a guy who didn’t even K. I get that he was a little off balance, but your statement is hyperbole.

Now Wallach on the other hand, he looked awful

He's always been known for his shitty hitting. I assume Telis will start today.

Mattingly said that with 3 catchers he likes the flexibility of Telis as a pinch hit option since he's a switch hitter. Not sure it matters because all three catchers suck but Don has a bit of a point. Just pointing that out because it might mean Telis doesn't start much even with JT still out.

I made the thread and went to sleep lmao. I ended up recording the game and watching it all again.

1st inning was rough. But I think all that was negated when we came back and tied the game. Schwarber is awful in the OF, but when you can hit you put up with that.

Tayron was excellent, he served a meatball to Kyle and he hit it a long way. Just needs better location. Can't discount that he struck out the first 4 guys he faced.

Brian Anderson did well, I think he is just gonna be a really solid player all around. I remember when Matt Dominguez was called up and I really wanted that guy to succeed but he was a bust. Brian Anderson coming up last year definitely helped him.

Brinson was trying to pull every pitch.

I thought what really killed us was the catchers interfernce by Wallach. Heyward had fouled the ball off but instead he was awarded first base. They switch pitchers and we end up giving that big 2 run double. He also couldn't get the guy in from 3rd base.

You can be absolutely off balance, standing on one leg with your eyes closed on three pitches, and poke three bloops over first. Does that mean you ripped that day? The outcome has nothing to do with his approach...which was terrible.

Did you guys see or hear about the idiots wearing brown paper bags over their heads? I wish they had worn those brown paper bags over their heads when we had 8 straight losing seasons with the greatest power hitter and the best outfield in baseball. Marlins fans wanna act embarrassed about 2018 when 2010-2017 didn't have much to be proud of either. Morons.

I completely agree. They act as if we have been in the playoffs every year. Some people out there really have no understanding of baseball, and they are just attracted to big names and media hype. These same clowns will be proudly boasting their "love" for the Marlins when we DO compete for many years (hey, I am an optimist!).
