August 22, 20188 yr Author Was he on the radar at all before this year? sort of ~ FG before this season (FG has him 45 FV up from 40) Lopez missed 2014 due to a ligament tear that required Tommy John surgery, and then he struggled to miss bats in 2015 and 2016 while throwing a nearly elite level of strikes. His stuff is up. His fastball sat in the 92-96 range with life last year and touched 97. Lopez does it easy and commands his fastball, average breaking ball, and changeup. He’s gone from projecting as an up-and-down arm to a potential No. 4/5 starter in the last year. Lopez was acquired from Seattle as part of the David Phelps deal ahead of the 2017 trade deadline.
August 22, 20188 yr So that Phelps deal was decent. Lukas Schiraldi has been hot garbage in AA but looked real good in Jupiter. He's old for the level, but still put up good numbers. If he can figure out why it isn't translating to AA ball, he could be a decent reliever at some point too. The other two guys we got for Phelps won't ever play major league baseball. Even if the deal had been Phelps for Lopez straight up, it would have been looking vaginal discharge good right now though.

August 22, 20188 yr We also got Nick Niedert, Chris Torres, and Robert Dugger from Seattle for Dee Gordon and Int slot money. If you look at what those three guys are doing in the minors you'll be very happy with the results. We might have really fleeced them twice. We should always trade with the Mariners!
