Victor Victor officially declared free agent

I know this is just how it is, but why is the amount of money these teams have left kept such a mystery?

It would never be a mystery, you just could know the correct number by following every move that every team made that involves the bonus pool money.

They dont have a manager or general manager and are even more poorly run then us.

The Orioles play in a much more difficult division than the Marlins.  Did the Orioles trade a MVP last offseason?

No, but they did trade one during the regular season.

"Keep in mind, the Marlins were initially assigned a $6,025,400 bonus pool for the 2018-19 international signing period. Teams are allowed to trade up for an additional 75 percent of their bonus pool allotment, which would be $4,519,050 in this case (h/t Baseball America’s Ben Badler). They already got $2 million of that in return for Barraclough, Lillie and Cameron Maybin.

That leaves another $2,519,050 to potentially add to the $6,069,500 estimate from earlier. Miami can max out at $8,588,550 to target the Mesas, Gastón and whatever else remains of the international free agent class."

If we really got that $8,588,550 bonus pool money then all the agents of those Cuban players would beg for us to sign their clients.

I'm vote for the "NO" already…

I voted Yes. The question was "CAN they sign him" and the correct response is yes they can. They are allowed to sign him if he agrees to their offer.

I disagree.

You must not understand the English language. The poll should say "will they sign him" or even "should they sign him" not "can they sign him."

You mean the O's fan even couldn't make a correct vote ?

when you're up against a juggernaut like Mike Hill - why even bother trying?

Holy shit this actually made me laugh hard..thanks I needed it

Wouldn't surprise if they keep to add more bonus pool money if they really want to sign all three, just don't believe the current amount was enough to do that.

Cuban righthander Osvani Gutierrez has signed with the Dodgers for $600,000.

Does he good ?

Gutierrez isn’t considered a top international prospect, but has shown advanced command for his age with a fastball that reportedly reaches 93 mph. As a 15-year-old, he posted a solid 2.16 ERA in 75 innings with 60 strikeouts against 29 walks in Cuba’s 15U national league.
