Marlins Sign Brandon Kintzler

35-year-old veteran, had some closing exp as well as 1x all star. Not a huge strikeout induced reliever but it's smart movement both FO and the player. He has been looking for rebounding place.

This guy was amazing when he was second baseman for the Rangers all those years. Surprised he's trying to be a pitcher now but oh well whatever it takes to revive his career.

This is a bad post and you should feel bad.

So who comes off the 40? I not sure they need Wallach with Alfaro and Cervelli, maybe Conley?

They still need Wallach and they claim they aren't giving up on Conley yet. What team can go without a possible third catcher especially with Cervellis injury history?

They can find a catcher at the end of spring training after all the cuts have been made and store him in AAA if needed, pretty much why they have Lavarnway there now

For just one day? So when it becomes official then the next day it won't?

He’ll get traded for some kid in rookie ball #CheapJeter /s

Holy shit the Marlins actually overpaid someone on purpose!

I know what you’re trying to say, but they didn’t overpay for Kintzler. They paid him market value. I believe what you’re trying to say is they didn’t simply settle for the cheaper option. They went and got the guy they thought was a better fit.

Unless Kintzler had other options and the Marlins overpaid him to make sure he comes here. You're probably right but that scenario crossed my mind too.

Kintzler and Strop are very different pitchers. Having both in the bullpen would have been nice, but if we had to pick one, I'm glad it was Kintzler. I just hope Mattingly uses him correctly (he won't).
