This is really the first season where there's been what seems like a league-wide adoption of the gary sanchez method of catching low pitches where you start with the glove on the floor and then bring it up instead of keeping a "target". So that could be contributing to the explosion in bad ball/strike calls cause they're getting fooled. But shit man, it's so bad it's even messing with the hitters and causing them to expand their strike zones.

The beinfest days were full of those kinds of bullpen arms that came out of nowhere to log some great seasons with us.
