Especially considering, and I guarantee, we'd have to take on most or all of the remainder of that contract. 6 more years on that deal, all on the wrong side of 30, going at 35M, 35M, 35M, 35M, 32M, 27M. No thank you. We can get Anderson for a loooot less. Yeah but you’d also be getting a lot less FROM him too lol but yeah I though he had 3-4 years left, didn’t know it was 6. Definitely don’t want the team to spend that kind of money for that long when he’ll inevitably regress at that point. i was just curious cause I feel we need a star from an under performing team that wants to get rid of a contract for at least next year. It's also the fact Arenado's offense just drops so much away from Coors. It wouldn't be worth it. You're ready to dump BA because of one bad year? Mechanical stuff with BA is the only issue this year, can all be sorted in the off-season. Don't get me wrong, away from Coors Arenado is still an "above average" hitter but not by that much. Barely. His OPS drops 200 points (this is career BTW), wOBA drops by nearly 80 points, etc. I know you might not believe me on this one but, save this year's issues, BA and Arenado are fairly on par defensively. I really believe it comes down to his pre-pitching workout. He was so much better before his Opening appearances and I truly believe that had to do with the fact that he had a lot more time to get worked out and get a better routine. With relief appearances, you really don't get that, so unless Donnie tells Stanek, "hey you're pitching in two innings, start getting ready," the results won't be there. I can't quantify this outside of the start/relieve splits he has for his career ... just weird. His stuff is incredible, I don't know what else it could be! No I Love BA, that’s why I figured it would take him as the Immediate MLB capable center piece going back. They changed his swing last year to to increase launch angle and get him to hit more homers so I know it’ll take a couple of seasons but he’ll eventually click. I just feel like having that vocal, proven All Star does a lot for a team and the marlins are missing that. They need their “Jayson Werth” player to signal the end of the rebuild. But I agree it’s a no on Arenado, didn’t realize he had 6 years left.

Really weird they haven’t used him as an opener yet considering how well he’s done that in the past. I guess that’s a little too progressive for Donnie lol

I like Lindor a lot! I don’t think JT is enough of an upgrade to justify the money he’s looking for plus I want to win a World Series without him and make him regret leaving lol. Lindor however would be a HUGE upgrade and a great fit for the team. 🤞🏻
