He’s a dick and I’m glad he’s gone, but he has every tool EXEPCT hitting for average unfortunately. That’s what makes him such an exciting player/possibility. I actually think long term he’ll end up learning to hit in a better organization but it wasn't even hitting for average..he literally could NOT make contact at all. if he could even bat .230 he'd have been a useful guy for sure with the power he had but man, as pointed out, his swing was crazy long and he never seemed to even try to adjust.

No I’m with you there, this particular iteration of his swing doesn’t work. But we’ve all seen too many players leave here and find Immediate success to not expect him to become a triple crown threat with some other team 😂

Any fastball above 93 mph and it was by him. Shoot, deGrom realized it and just basically fed his version of BP fastballs to Monte (at 96+ mph) and Monte still couldn't get around on them. Lol.
