I guess that will now officially close the book on that Yelich trade.

I  mean, in a way yes. But then if Brinson, Yamamoto, or Monte end up doing well on their new teams, it'll kind of reopen it to "why couldn't they succeed on the Marlins?" (There's no hope for Isan, that's why I didn't include him. He might be the worst baseball player I've ever seen get that many chances.)

True, but I'm just looking at it from a return to the Marlins perspective here.

Who would you say is 2nd worst?

I agree with you (as he is also the worst I've seen), but I lack experience in following players for long enough to consider any others getting close to him.

it's hard to quantify because most teams wouldn't give a player as atrocious at baseball as Isan Diaz that many chances, but guys that *were* good and then got bad like Chris Davis come to mind. Rick Ankiel on the mound after the yips. But both of those guys had good seasons to build on and gave their teams reason to think they might be good. Isan never did anything well, but kept playing and playing and playing because our favorite team is managed by a guy who would get fired by most high school baseball programs.

I thought the rule was that if you hit a homer off of Jacob deGrom, then you get another 500 PA's to prove yourself. Is it a coincidence that now, after he has gotten 500 PA since that homer, that he gets DFA'd?

Wait he still needs two more PAs. He hit that homer in his third one and has 501 PAs right now. CRAP! What if he homers in both of those?!?!!

Even if they were grand slams, he still would have shit numbers. I'm sure the boys in the stat room took this into consideration when they decided to eject him from the team early.
