Now the best signing in Marlins history

The sudden and rapid purge of the last remaining pieces of that Yelich deal makes me wonder if it was Jeter who had refused to give up on them.

Oh, without a doubt! That trade made him look terrible so he was dying for any of them to amount to anything at all.

I expect none of 29 teams would pick him up.

He had a very low BABIP last year. He will be picked up for sure. He's a good lottery ticket on a MiLB deal.

I'm surprised. He is a good AAA stash, but at the end of the day not a big deal.

Problem is his AAA slash(es) always gave false hopes.

this is so sad Alexa play Despacito

Isan always looked bad as a fielder, was an atrocious base runner, and refused (or was unable to) make adjustments at the plate. He seemed to draw the ire of several teammates as well, but remained Mattingly's prized baby boy for some reason.

That little tidbit of Soler and Livan being the only Cuban born World Series MVPs is pretty cool.

Just took a little "Soler" energy to DFA Isan

Was it Don or Jeter, though, really? I know Don's the one who makes the lineups, but perhaps he was getting a lot of pressure from Jeter to keep playing these guys.

Jeter leaves and suddenly Brinson, Monte, and Isan all off the roster.

Could have been Jeter keeping him on the roster, but I feel like Dong has a little more autonomy in making lineups, and we've seen how that goes...

This is an excellent day in Marlins history, but it will be dampened by the "Diaz clears waivers, will report to Triple-A Jacksonville" news that's sure to come in a few days.

Damn you're hanging out with @taiwanmarlin I guess in the future. Wonder where the two expansion teams went.

The stress levels of @taiwanmarlin are even more remarkable when you realize he's from the future and already knows everything that's gonna happen.

Maybe it's all an act and he's just giving various reactions to entertain himself since there's no suspense for him compared to us.

I guess that will now officially close the book on that Yelich trade.
