I know we're facing a lefty but what the hell has happened to Wendle?

He's probably grounded. Don Mattingly is a cop. The biggest issue with Joey Wendle is that he isn't Jon Berti.

They said general soreness 3 days ago, but this is just reminding me of 2021 where we'd play a man or 2 down for a week at times.

Seriously ...

"Yeah Andy's got a sore shoulder, he'll be fine soon."

(2 weeks)

"OK so yeah his shoulder's actually fuuuuucked ..."

What everyone seems to forget about the D-Backs from last year was that they were hovering around the .500 mark in early May when they cam into Miami. I think they were either 1 game over or one game under. We swept them. That was the start of their tailspin. That was the start of their historic 24 game road losing streak. We initiated their downfall and I fear that they may have returned the favor.

Don probably lost the dart with Wendles name on it when he throws them at the board before each game. Someone should check under the couch cushions for him.

Does Don pick names out of a hat for the lineup and the order?

It’s a spinning wheel.   Where it stops nobody knows.  People playing multiple positions simultaneously ?  Sure!

"We have Jesus Sanchez in center field and shortstop and DH."

"You can't do that Don."

"Yes I can, he's a lefty hitter and the pitcher is right handed."

"No, tha--"

"See you can't argue it."

Don turns around with a giant grin and begins skipping towards the dugout

Good news - Soler actually hit a ball on the outside corner to right field.

Bad news - Pretty bad swing on the 2-0 pitch, as if he thought the ball was going to be a lot closer to him.

Also bad news - he didn't hit it well the other way.
