June 15, 20224 yr I thought it was 100% moronic when they left him in last start when he looked clearly uncomfortable out there. A pitcher is always going to say he's fine and stay in. It seemed like a back or leg problem for him. And he compensated for it and now has an arm issue. Same thing happened with Jose if I remember right leading to Tommy John.

Good job by Mattingly leaving him out there when his knee was hurting and he was clearly struggling last start

Max Scherzer took himself out back in May, instead of being stubborn and costing himself months on the IL, he I think will be back soon! But he also has a lot of built up latitude based on what he has done career wise.
