I mean…..technically he didn’t have a concussion…

"John F Kennedy (hole in brain) has exited the blue tent and been cleared of a concussion. He is questionable to return. Let's go to our independent neurological specialist for more."

"You see, a concussion, very basically, is when your brain unexpectedly hits your skull. What happened here, you see, was that the bullet hit his skull, and then his brain, and then the other side of his skull. There was no brain-to-skull contact here, so we can officially say he has not suffered a concussion and is okay to return to the field of play."

Exactly!  lol

Players and coaches are saying "Tua is himself" around practice right now. Don't believe he's actually practicing but "bringing good energy," Wilkins said.

Good to hear, but obviously playing is much different than walking around.

well, yeah, could you imagine if he wasn't himself?

One hit where a singular person from far away "BELIEVES" they saw Teddy stumble.

Not even confirmed, just, "yeah I think so."

Concussions are a serious deal.  But from what I read only one person saw him 'stumble'??? I don't think the announcers, refs, or anyone else saw a damn thing.  Tua likely should have not been allowed to come back in the game.  His was a lot more evident from the videos I've seen.  I haven't seen anything on Teddy yet so this feels really lame.  Nobody would EVER dare to to take out a Brady, Rodgers, Mahomes, etc. for what happened to Teddy today. What happens if you honestly trip on something and stumble?  You're automatically out of the game and in concussion protocol?  Cleat could have gotten stuck and foot didn't come out just right, he could tweak an ankle, get a cramp in a calf, etc.  and now suddenly you're done from the game if you don't walk back smoothly?  What about the guys who are nursing injuries and have a slight limp already? How do you tell then?

I have a strong feeling this happened to Miami because of the Tua scenario.  Common sense needs to be used too.

Oh well, this is yet again why I don't watch the fucking NFL games anymore.  It's been trash for a decade plus now.

Never arguing against this at any point because, yes, very much so.

This one, strictly against the Bills, I can say him claiming it was his back is believable only because it's happened to me after deadlifts before. Did three heavy sets with a lot of reps and strictly from lower back soreness after that, I jelly-legged. That said, he may have also been concussed, but they've said he passed through all protocols, and passed protocols the next four days as well. If everyone involved says he's good to go, then why not play him?

It ended up really being on the protocols themselves, in the end. And if he doesn't get slammed down on TNF like he did, maybe it ends up as a non-issue.

Today's situation was probably an overreaction and will be corrected as more cases and scenarios come through. I'll almost guarantee this rule is going to get a thorough looking through in the offseason to hammer it out completely.

Maybe they need more than just ONE person looking at these stumbles, though, and with video reviews themselves. Like a panel of three, and make it to where it needs majority vote to put back in or keep out. Unanimous vote would be required for immediate reinstatement to the game, but 2/3 can trigger an extra look down on the field.

We'll see what happens!

Turns out there wasn't a single stumble, at all.

This was also called intentional grounding which it shouldn't have been. NFL really had it out for the Dolphins yesterday, and it was very clear.

The pendulum swings to the other direction.

This is stupid. Maybe just stop playing or watching football if you're worried about concussions. I'm not speaking to people individually, I'm talking about society as a whole.

You aren't ever going to sufficiently mitigate the risk of concussion. So we either accept that the sport is what it is and leave it up to the individual player to decide if they're good to go, or we decide that this isn't worth the risk and stop watching and playing.

I know this will never happen, but these half-assed measures seem to always piss a significant chunk of fans and are neither sensible nor effective. We just saw it with the same team in a matter of two weeks, on both sides of the coin.

Agreed.

Super odd that the only spotter related player removal this week was the Dolphins QB on the very first hit he took. Certainly no agenda there ...

The spotter was an athletic trainer as well, nobody with medical experience. Could have been a Jets fan for all we know!

Yeah, wasn't shocked at all that Miami was the ONLY team with a QB that took a hit and "stumbled". Sure guys, sure.

Zach Wilson had a helmet to helmet hit later in the game, didn't immediately get up, didn't even get checked.

Patrick Mahomes, who has some SEVERE concussion history, was slammed down last night with a tackle similar to the one that (really) concussed Tua a couple weeks ago and Mahomes was not even considered for being checked.

And Teddy is missing this game due to still being in concussion protocol lol wow.  Miami off to a nice 3-0 start winning all the games they shouldn't have and then...boom..dumpster fire

Potentially without Teddy, McDaniel just naming Skylar starter as of now because that's who is a guaranteed availability.

Syklar better make sure his laces are tied up nice and snug on those shoes lest he stumble coming out of the tunnel.

Tua returns next week against Pittsburgh. 0-3 without him.

I will almost guarantee a loss today too.  I'm sure Flores will have that D absolutely geeked up to try and tear Tua's head off his shoulders especially considering how everything fell out and it's pretty well established that he was NOT a big fan of Tua (or the offense in general haha).  Don't get me wrong, I don't think Flores is a bad dude at all and he can coach the hell out of a defense but I do believe it's only human to want to absolutely obliterate your former employer who is now your foe - especially if you were slighted.

We'll see. Doubtful. TBD.

He can't be too mad when he went out of his way to sabotage a guy because "oh it's not who I wanted."
